Re: What is Gravity?

You’re working towards a more well rounded view of physics. You’ve discovered the disconnect between the scientific theories of the very large and the very small. The attempt to unify them into a single cohesive theory is a very exciting project that has been going on ever since these two theories ...

Re: Russell McGregor: Online Mopologist Extraordinaire

Coincidentally, that same Proprietor decided to create a blog post attacking another religion today: … this article expresses quite well some of my objections to Calvinist theology: “Why Calvinism Cannot Be True And Is It Heresy?” I’ve never forgotten a comment that John Sanders, another Protestant ...

Meh. I’m over him. Angry guy saying angry things to make people feel mad, all to stroke his personal epeen. Not a good ambassador for for the church or for Jesus. But that’s plainly not the objective.
He and Robert Boylan are competing for last place in a very small race.

Re: Numbers...

I agree you have the subjective experience with base10 numbers and the English alphabet, but those are experiences generated by our minds. I think the point that Marcus and I are pushing back on is some idea that these experiences are created by the numbers themselves. Our brains are creating the f...

There is even a theory associated with this that discusses the idea that it is the observer who determines the static state.
The Many Worlds interpretation requires no observer to collapse the wave function. And it's much more elegant and simple.

Re: Numbers...

At least Marcus got the joke. I would explain it but that lessens the impact. Suffice it to say none of the number coincidences in this thread work in base 2, or base 16. Look at this from a more sophisticated perspective and it all falls apart quickly. Base 10, for the uninformed, is just an arbit...

I was taught that an experiment was done that proved the ether didn't exist.
Indeed, the famous Michelson–Morley experiment was strong evidence against the theory.

Re: Seeing Things Differently -DanP the apologist excuse.

Free will requires something outside of reality, by definition. If it’s just the sum total of the material universe, then it’s not free. Next sentence, same thing. Makes no sense. To me. Can you explain why this sentence has meaning for you? Maybe some concrete examples? Regards, MG Free will means...

Re: Seeing Things Differently -DanP the apologist excuse.

Free will requires something outside of reality, by definition. If it’s just the sum total of the material universe, then it’s not free. It’s bound by cause and effect and the laws of nature. The immaterial soul, in order to operate the way people think free will works, has to be completely outside ...
