Re: Making Covenants

I’ve received notification from the moderation team that MG 2.0’s problematic behaviour is not going to be dealt with. That’s their prerogative. I’m done.

Re: Church comments on SEC settlement

First, “I believe in being honest.” What does it mean to be honest? The booklet True to the Faith teaches, “To be honest means to be sincere, truthful, and without deceit at all times.”2 It is a commandment from God to be honest,3 and “complete honesty is necessary for our salvation.”4 President Ho...

Re: Church comments on SEC settlement

It's crossed my mind that one of the reasons the Church sought to avoid reporting of its' investments is to hide what the Church has invested in. They've long suggested that they avoid investments that run contrary to Church teachings, but do they really? It's clear they avoid investing in Big Tobac...

If SeN were in Spanish, Mexico would probably be losing 100 Wards a year. Keep up the great work FAIR and the mopoligists!

Re: Since 2015, Mexico Is Losing 50 Wards A Year

I'm pretty sure that reading about the Church paying fines for hiding an eye watering amount of hoarded wealth is unlikely to play well with impoverished members in Mexico who are being exhorted (that's only one letter away from the truth if you think about it...) to hand over 10% of their annual in...

Yeah, "less gullible" also reads as "the majority of LDS Republicans believe Trumps' fraud claims". And you think that's a positive statistic?

Re: Making Covenants

This recent bellyache isn’t the same as the situation with Doc. I used brackets and plugged in words that were a LOT softer than the language he was using. All I did was use ellipsis in this current hoopla and leave part of the sentence out. This has been done MANY times over the years by various p...

[inaccurate paraphrase deleted - please do not include anything within a quote that doesn’t accurately represent the quoted person’s words. RI] Message received. Thanks, MG This was yesterday on this very thread. “Message Received” clearly has a different meaning for MG 2.0 than the traditional way...

Re: Making Covenants

Your last sentence captures perfectly the technique under discussion. Properly (or even improperly) truncating a quote to focus on a specific element is a far cry from intentionally misrepresenting someone repeatedly. Mg's completely untruthful misuse of my comment in several recent posts (as I det...

canpakes took the time to lead towards discussion rather than going all nit picky in other directions that have very little to do with discussion and/or understanding of covenantal relationships with God. Her thoughts stimulated my thinking somewhat although it was evident that she was coming at th...
