Re: Building the FARMS Ziggurat

My memory's a little fuzzy but I do remember that it covered how people would get paid, division of labor, and things like that. What stands out in my mind is a prime directive and I remember it because it was specifically bolded and underlined. It was about making sure that there was always a clear...

I swear on my life that the letter is legitamite. I saw it with my own eyes. i guess it could be that someone else wrote the letter and put hamblins name on it. But I swear that I saw that letter and that text arrive at Church headquarters.

Hello everyone. I think I can lay at least a part of this issue to rest. some time ago, I had a close friend within LDS Church headquarters and I recall when Bro. Watson received Bill Hamblin's letter. I was intrigued enough by it to get a hold of a photocopy. I had misplaced it though which is a st...

Re: Drive By Posting

I hope Mr. Scratch gives his permission in this instance as you have done. I think it is premature, however, to question Keene's integrity. Taunting the moderator is not a good way to create good will. Constantly taunting Mormons isn't a good way to create goodwill, either. You're right. I would li...

Re: Giving and Taking Offense

Dear Mr. Englund, I think there is a problem with this equation, that problem being that this is not really an equation at all. In dealing with hypersensitivity you are dealing with yourself and only yourself. But if you are trying to figure out and control whether you offend someone else, you are ...

Re: Giving and Taking Offense

What do you use to avoid being offended and/or being hyper-sensative? It's simple. I remember that essentially, we're all strangers to each other. Why would I take offense from anyone who doesn't even know me? Also, it's not ever really worth getting upset over a difference of opinion or belief. Th...

Arnold Friend....*shudder* Arnold Friend, the moniker, not the poster, gives me the willies, too. Is he the antagonist in a book or review I've read? An evil character in a movie or a play? I can't place that name, but it's familiar... KA Unfortunately, I've heard this before. :( I can't help the n...

The appropriate follow-up question is: Do those members who were warned against reading anti-Mormon literature have a right to feel upset when they learn that they were really just being warned against learning the unpleasant truth about the Church? Upset? Sure. But really there's nobody to blame a...

To be fair, I've heard the phrase "But they really are nice people" applied to Mormons a number of times, too.
