Re: Missionary Dress Code - Blue shirts are in, ties are out. Sort of.

The main picture accompanying the article are 4 missionaries - 1 Asian in appearance, 1 Black, 2 White. Of the 4 missionaries, 3 are wearing ties and long sleeves. 1 is pictured in short sleeves and no tie. Guess which one they picked to be the odd one out not wearing a tie and not wearing long sle...

When you look at two candidates for a job position, and they are the only two available,
It should be duly noted that Biden isn't the nominee yet.

Re: Joe Biden accused of sexual assault

I think of the Al Franken situation. He was one of the stronger Democrats in the Senate in terms of public communication ability and political sharpness. He was pushed out because, initial allegation aside, a decent body of evidence developed that he had a history of groping women inappropriately. ...

Re: Ties and white shirts are no longer required at Church.

It's good to finally see this in the handbook. 37 years ago, some Regional Representative wrote an article in the Ensign suggesting this should be a thing, and I'm sure he's happy to see it in the Handbook now, wherever he is... Is it necessary to take the sacrament with one’s right hand? Does it re...

Re: 94,044,000 Americans Not in the Labor Force

But bottom line in your opinion, the debt should only be reduced by raising taxes or cutting military spending, never by cutting welfare spending or foreign aid. Anyone who votes for something different is an ethnocentric racist stomping their boot on those who don't want to work for a living. The ...

Re: John Dehlin on the Immorality of Mormonism!

The leaders can be judged by their own standards of morality. We can ask if whether or not the Church leaders doing everything they can to present a narrative that will get people to the Celestial Kingdom is consistent within their own beliefs? I would argue that it is not. By purposely withholding...

Re: Annual budget for our 2020 class activities announced

9-10 year old boys. Anything goes apparently. What activities were you planning on doing that won't fit in the budget? I suspect there will be larger-scale activities like a pinewood derby and summer camp that will be covered by the ward and/or stake. Our stake is doing a multi-day day camp for the...

Re: John Dehlin on the Immorality of Mormonism!

The problem with Dehlin's claim (and the conversation that follows) is that the key point is whether or not the Church is "true." Pretend the Church is "true" and re-read Dehlin's claim. If it's "true", then is it really a bad thing for Church leaders to do everything t...
