Re: Obama Lie #1: Reverend Wright
Obama never heard Wright say those incendiary things, but he heard about them later on, and so distanced his campaign from the Reverend. Everyone whose IQ doesn't drop 30 points when Obama's name is mentioned is capable of understanding this.

Re: BC Space-Des news on gap between rich and poor
Posting an article with all the usual liberal nitwittery does little to convince me. You got anything else? Seriously, dude? That article is about the newest ideas of economists at the very top of their field. You don't get to just dismiss it as the work of a political hack. Maybe it would be best ...

Re: Tarski Spinoff: God, Dawkins and Logic
Is Richard Dawkins a Mormon? He recently endorsed a view of Gods that's remarkably similar to Mormon cosmology: “Certainly,” Professor Dawkins replies. “It’s highly plausible that in the universe there are God-like creatures.” He raises his hand, just in case a reader thinks he’s gone around a relig...

Re: The Definitive MADhouse Quote Page.
So does anyone think it possible that seeds and spores from this earth could some how escape gravity by wind or perhaps Volcanic eruption or even a meteor impact float out past the atmosphere and stratosphere into space and then survive long enough to make it to another sphere? I know its probably ...

Re: Buddhism, Jainism, and Mormonism: God was once a man
Thanks for posting this, daheshism. I've also been thinking a lot about Mormonism and Jainism lately. Here are some other interesting parallels between the religions: 1. The belief that spirit is merely a refined kind of matter. 2. A strongly-held belief that thoughts can be regulated by the spirit....

Re: American Politics 2012
Okay, you clarified a bit more in an edit: If this is due to my Obama comment, I guess things like advocating the authority of the president to order the assassination of U.S. citizens without charge or due process far away from any battlefield or the total immunity of the executive branch from judi...

Re: Fox Advocacy Group Declares Romney Non-Christian
I meant that your post didn't appear to be informed by important historical events. It didn't mention the Protestant Reformation. That's true. But it also didn't mention the Council of Nicea, the Crusades, Thomas Aquinas, the Enlightenment, the rise of theological liberalism, the response of Protes...

Re: American Politics 2012
I think I pegged you as deontological because you have some apparent commitments to individualism that I find difficult to justify empirically. I guess that was my bias showing. Still, I'm curious why you value liberty (in the Lockean sense) so highly, when my understanding is that the social scienc...
