Re: LDS Speaking in Tongues

They were drunk, allegedly, and only drunk people can understand what drunk people are saying.

Re: Is this board hostile towards LDS posters...?

Stem, I've been thinking about your attempts to 'remove hostility' from the boards posts and, for what it's worth, here's my considered view. The board has behaviour guidelines and as long as posters behave within these guidelines all is well. You appear to want to alter behaviour above and beyond t...

Re: Public Service Announcement

I absolutely, categorically do not want Stem, to go.

But I respect the fact that he has the personal freedom to choose his own actions and must stand by whatever he decides. I would not respect any attempt on his behalf to blame others for his departure if he so chooses.

Re: Found the truth, what next?

At the risk of starting a firestorm, I'm going to state my disagreement with Stem here. I favored Proposition 8, and I don't apologize for it. When LDS leaders in our ward said they were looking for people to help promote Proposition 8 I offered my services , though apparently they had the help the...

How many chapters would need to be quoted errantly before it became an issue with the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon?

Re: The Isaiah Problem

Can anyone point me to thread where the Isaiah problem has been discussed? Just reading a little about it and the apologetic response. I'm sure there has been a thread about it already but my searches are not turning up much. Seems the most damaging arguments to the Book of Mormon are ones that had...

Re: Found the truth, what next?

Kevin, the difficulty with yours/stems position on the priesthood ban for blacks is that you have to be willing to accept that God allowed this mistake in His Church to go uncorrected for generations. He chose not to speak with subsequent Prophets to correct it. He allowed racism to continue unchec...

Re: Schryver's Article Is Going To Be Published, Somewhere?

It has to be said that if the content of Mr Schryvers forthcoming and long promised article is anything like the content of his posts on MDD on the same subject he would be better off not publishing it. Whatever tattered shreds remain of his academic reputation they will surely be laid to waste unle...

Re: William S. Schryver: Fan of MDB!

Stem, pay a visit to MDD and read through the thread where Will is discussing the Book of Abraham. If you are honest you will see that the person displaying hostility towards fellow posters is in fact the same guy who you have lept to defend before he was attacked.

Re: The conspiracy against Stemelbow, real or not...?

Sheesh, just me, can't you let things go, I say knowing full well my own vice on this front? I've clarified time and again and you keep attributing a notion to me I did not suggest. "What you seem to be saying here, by the way, is that her reaction was not an overreaction but that she was reac...
