Oh wait...so, Rosebud=Anne McMullin? Didn't see that coming.

Sounds like she's accusing Lindsay, then, for being party to her being mistreated by Dehlin...And now it makes sense why he was thrown into this.

Oh Good...another Rosebud thread.

Re: Smith's Translations at MD&D brouhaha

Great thread. I hereby prophecy that the poster named Fair Dinkum will soon be banned for putting pompous ass Scott Lloyd in his place for being a jerk for pointing out his misspelling. On 8/15/2020 at 2:25 PM, Scott Lloyd said: “try’s”? Fair Dinkum’s reply https://www.sciencealert.com/people-who-pi...

Re: Radio Free Mormon: 187: “Borrowed Robes”–The JST’s Reliance on the Adam Clarke Bible Commentary

Question asked Question answered: On the title page of the JST is this intoduction: While translating the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery found they held different views on the meaning of a passage in the Bible. They “mutually agreed to settle” the question “by the Urim and [Thummim]...

Re: Radio Free Mormon: 187: “Borrowed Robes”–The JST’s Reliance on the Adam Clarke Bible Commentary

Do we know if Joseph Smith ever made any claims regarding the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible? Did he ever make claims of revelation or inspiration or visitations regarding his JST? It would be interesting, particularly in light of his plagiarisms from Clark's Bible Commentary to know what he ...

An Open Letter to Dieter Uchtdorf:

I've been doing some research back into my ACTIVE Apostate Days and came across this open letter I wrote. I'm quite proud of it, thought I'd share Written Originally October 9, 2013 Dear President Uchtdorf, When is it OK to Stop Doubting your Doubts and just go where the evidence leads? There is a s...

Re: My Interview with Brian Hauglid is Up!

Time to return and report! All the Best! RFM Thank goodness you filtered the questions offered by this august group of nuanced believers, coupled with those of us who have jumped overboard. Knowing that Brian had access to the questions makes me blush with embarrassment. I got a little too cynical ...

Re: My Interview with Brian Hauglid is Up!

The most important part of this podcast for me was the discussion between RFM and Dr. Hauglid over Gee's use of questionable source material to support his claim of the missing papyri roll. Splicing two eye witness accounts into one by taking a little from one and a little from another to support hi...

Re: My Interview with Brian Hauglid is Up!

The Abraham/Egyptian papers appear to show hieroglyphs from the recovered papyri to translate the first section of the Book of Abraham. The Abraham/Egyptian papers are dated to the end of 1835. Gee posits this was not a translation project because the recovered papyri do not contain the text of the...

Re: My Interview with Brian Hauglid is Up!

I guess part of the problem I'm having in wrapping my head around Gee's assertions is that they seem so completely flawed. On so many pathways the Book of Abraham is a complete fraud. Gee's attempt to make it believable leaves me with a headache. The KEP/AEP only make sense as a tool of Smith's effo...
