Re: Happy Sunday

The first big crack in my beliefs came at that time when I realised that I simply didn't miss going to church in the way I thought I would and should. I started searching for what could make me feel that way. My search eventually led me to the website of Richard Packham, a retired teacher & lawyer....

Re: University of South Carolina Cancels Basketball Games With BYU Over Racial Incident

Do you think the Church should apologise for the Priesthood Ban? One incident of modern institutions rushing to take an athlete at her word (which may have been given in good faith, even if nothing racist was said), and MG calls for rounds of apologies. One hundred fifty plus years of systematic Mo...

Re: University of South Carolina Cancels Basketball Games With BYU Over Racial Incident

Do you think the Church should apologise for the Priesthood Ban? Still nothing MG2.0? What's the problem? It's a simple question... Sorry. I missed this. I didn’t come back to this thread until today to give this any special notice. The church has come along way. The NAACP seems to be OK with Pres....

Re: Following the Sprit and Echolocation

Simply put. If God is our Father then just good ol’ common sense would tell us that He loves and cares about us. And that He has our long term best interests in mind. You appear to be claiming that being our father would make him care about us. Sorry - that simply makes no sense to me. It's almost ...

Re: Sic et Non Is Dead

Mg, your response creates more question than clarification. You are posting now so are obviously not banned. What sort of temporary ban are you referring to? This was a few years ago. Back in my wilder days. Thanks Kishkumen. No one home today except me and the kidney stone. Not fun at all. Regards,...

Re: Happy Sunday

I followed Dehlin’s podcasts. They did help in the sense that I was able to use what I heard there along with everything else I was listening to and reading. As I said, I think in his beginning years his motives were somewhat praiseworthy in that he did entertain guests that had different viewpoint...

Re: Happy Sunday

I think it is more of a joyless corporate enterprise that more or less, probably increasingly less, fills a hole in the modern middle class life. Joyless? All in the eye of the beholder, right? I would agree with you that as materialism and comfort become more and more the norm and commonplace that...

Re: Happy Sunday

But it is totally slimy of you to claim in retrospect that we follow John in the fashion you sought to in your misguided way. I followed Dehlin’s podcasts. They did help in the sense that I was able to use what I heard there along with everything else I was listening to and reading. As I said, I th...

Re: Should I do podcast presentations?

If anyone is reading this, you are welcome to comment. Perhaps I should take a hiatus and pursue other interests in expressing the restoration of Joseph Smith's geography as given in the text of his novel. What about the idea of doing podcast visual presentations (a series) showing on the map, step...

Re: Sic et Non Is Dead

a point of curiosity here, did Smokey actually get banned or did he just tire of posting stuff. I wondered a couple of times if the persona and point of view was all just a fiction which the author tired of so ended and adopted a new different persona. Upthread it was observed a couple of times tha...
