Re: Lds church is wrongly attacked for giving too little to charity....
I agree the church shouldn't be attacked for not doing enough charity. It should be attacked for having hundreds of billions of dollars while putting the screws to well-meaning members. Riding the backs of members for every spare cent and then turning it over to charity isn't admirable either. Mayb...

Re: Bokovoy on Mormon Stories
The pod cast is a edited re-run from the 2018 series. I believe John is combining 7 or 8 episodes into 3. David is a good person for sure, brilliant mind. In the 1st interview, in my opinion, he is all over the place. He had just stopped attending church but still has a great love for it. Again in ...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
Being on the register as a National Landmark does not necessarily mean it can't be used as a Temple, in fact I am almost certain it could. I just wonder if it was part of the sales agreement between the two parties? I have been in Historic preservation for almost three decades and have worked on se...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
I did a Google search and looked at the floor plan for the Temple. I was surprised at how small it is. The floor area of the Temple is about 15,000 sq. feet, in comparison to the SLC Temple of over 250,000 sq. feet. The San Diego Temple is over 70,000 sq. feet. The Redlands Temple, which is a few mi...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
Wow! Yikes! This is kinda sad all around. The CoC must be doing really poorly to be forced to sell the Kirtland Temple. I think DCP is right in saying that the LDS Church is the right owner, when you consider the other options out there. Yeah, I don't see other options out there. And, whatever thei...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
I don’t think the plan will be to covert the Kirtland temple into a functioning temple for the modern endowment. The temple is a National Historic Landmark and likely will be preserved as is. Being on the register as a National Landmark does not necessarily mean it can't be used as a Temple, in fac...
