Re: ‘A slap in the face’: LDS Relief Society leaders ordered off the stand

I'll admit I have a hard time feeling bad for anybody here. The kind of institution that orders a class of people off the stand is the kind of institution that has stands in the first place. Will it be a huge advancement for women if women are also allowed to be general authorities and help cover u...

Re: Vogel on Mormonism Live Tonight

Tonight at 6:20 (Mountain Time) I will be interviewed on “Mormonism Live” with Bill Reel and Radio Free Mormon. We’ll be talking about my new biography of Joseph Smith “Charisma under Pressure,” as well as a new YouTube video about the Smith family’s magic parchments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

No. It was to show that there wasn’t some kind of nefarious intent. That the Brethren’s motivations were benign in respect to the members of the church. Re: How the Mighty Fall

Re: "Bible Study": neo-tracting and sneaky Trojan horse?

We couldn't trust regular chapel Mormons to conduct a Bible Study with non-members, now could we? That would be a disaster, and would only expose how very little Mormons know about the Bible. I think it would be a disaster even for missionaries. How much do 18-year olds with an incidental brush wit...

Re: Dreams of Being Called on a Mission

I used to have similar dreams all the time as well.

The last one I had (about 15 years ago): I went out of my way to get called on a mission again. And when I got there, I left and went home.

Like you say, Analytics, it was a good one.

This is a clever tactic to intentionally create a plagiarism distraction from the church’s current child abuse cover-up woes.

My hat’s off to Elder Bednar.

Taking one for the team.
Haha exactly. Very smooth.
