Re: Joseph Smth innocent trials, Stats and the Book of Mormon.

Maybe it’s incredibly good luck, but only if escaping from prison a couple times and dodging extradition to Missouri until an angry mob shoots you while you're in jail waiting to be tried for inciting a riot count as innocence. Also, wasn't he found guilty in a few of them? https://en.wikipedia.org/...

Re: Year of Maroni

See Joseph Smith--History 1:33: " He called me by name, and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me, and that his name was Moroni " There's confusion around timing and the messenger's name. 1:33 originally said that he gave his name as Nephi . Can't put much weight ...

Re: Year of Maroni

According to the Malay annals, Maroni was from the eastern Roman Empire which included Jerusalem. But Moroni lived and died over a thousand years after Lehi left Jerusalem. He had no connection to Malaysia. Marong/Maroni is a title, given to military leaders ( source ). There were more than one. On...

So, there was a city of Jerusalem, ruled by a king named Zedekiah, in Malaysia as well as Israel?

Re: Year of Maroni

[*]Evidence that the Book of Mormon is a historical text or pseudo-historical text set on the Malay Peninsula.[/list] So, in Joseph Smith--History 1:34, when Moroni tells Joseph Smith, " He said there was a book deposited, written upon gold plates, giving an account of the former inhabitants of thi...

Tonight marks the first day of the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese lunar calendar. In ancient Siam this was called the year of Marong. In Thailand, even today, the fifth year in the lunar cycle is referred to as the Year of Marong. ( source ) "Marong is a Siamese word used in their astrological or...

Re: Lamanite

You will appreciate these maps with Lamanite marked in blue and you can zoom about the whole region and it’s crystal clear: From the map you linked to, there are a few other features that are key to a Book of Mormon geography, And another toponym: But let's not lose track of the fact that Marong/Ma...

Re: River Sidon and the Ace of Hearts

Hmmm. Hard to say. Where is Smith’s river Sidon? No telling what map had inspired the geography. It was probably more than one. But this is one map of the Quedas that could have worked. Note that it is titled as a map of Molucche, very close to the spelling of Muloch, and the first inhabitants of Z...

Re: River Sidon and the Ace of Hearts

All you need do is embrace the text about Sidon flowing and running into sea west. I provided verses to that effect and other examples to support the text. The key word is “running” which is directly associated with kinetic flow of the river from east to west leading into the sea. The evidence expr...

Re: River Sidon and the Ace of Hearts

So, what do you think about the direction of the current of river Sidon? For me, there is no question that it leads to sea west. I’ve demonstrated that with the text and used examples to put it together in a cohesive way. And that is not a good think for the apologists who have avoided coming to th...
