Re: Mormons arguing that “Mormon” is as derogatory as the N-word
What “truly decent acts” did Brigham Young do? Marry a lot of ugly (otherwise unmarriageable) woman. Mark Twain said so in Roughing It Since bringing up the subject of books, many do not have a problem with the N-word if said in a movie or reading it in a book; others do. Lots of discussion from pe...

Re: Why does having a megathread feel offensive to people?
I agree, in a way, but this forum deals with Mormonism which pushes many buttons. Moderators are like people that tend to their garden on a daily basis and they if they do see something new, they have special skills to determine weed of flower, or replant the little flower in the garden on the other...

I tried reading it, and it's over a hundred pages. Does the thread have Cliff Notes?

Re: It’s really easy if you stick with telling the truth
If someone is harmed then the appropriate authorities need to be contacted. Delaying it just creates a host of problems. Boyd K. Packer's famous little factory talk comes to mind. At the end and closing, and not about his main topic, he went on to talk about a missionary that really needed to talk t...

Re: What's with older men and younger women:
There must be something in the Sacrament water. Russell M.Nelson robbed the cradle with his second wife Wendy. Russell is almost 30 years her senior. Prophets love much younger women. I’m sure Wendy views the marriage as her duty. No doubt she is counting the days until she and Sheri Dew can finall...

What's with older men and younger women:
A lot of recent discussion in different forums about this subject. Certainly, it's brought up when discussing 19th century Mormonism. And if people are interested in that, I suggest looking at American history, especially American history in the 19th century. I remember reading how James Buchanan co...

Re: Mormons arguing that “Mormon” is as derogatory as the N-word
*scratching my head* Some people seem to give the N-word a pass if reading the word or hearing it while watching a film. Some books have it once which to me is enough and some have it through out the story; films too. I tend to agree with a former poster is that - are you alone when this is watched ...

Re: DCP Admits that Joseph Smith's Polygamy was "Probably" Motivated by "Sexual Desire"
James Buchanan, President of the United States prior to Lincoln, was a bachelor all his life. He did fall in love in his early years but the young woman passed leaving him completely broken. He served as a Senator, Secretary of State, and Minister to England, prior to be inaugurated in as President ...
