Didn't Ms. Jack push him into exile by keeping track of his odious quotes?
I should hope that such a setback would not be enough to explain how he devolved so far.

Sad to see where Will Schryver’s life took him. Apologetics for the Book of Abraham are understandable, apologetics for a vicious, cruel tyrant, who murders journalists and political opponents? That is far enough off the map of civilized behavior to make me wonder what the hell happened to Schyrver.

Re: Ideology, Religion, and Mormonism

How about go meet some MAGA supporters and talk to them and explore their points of view? You might find they aren't the looneys the corporate media portrays them to be? I know a bunch of MAGA supporters and talk to them on the golf course all the time while we play. They aren't so nutty as you por...

I’d love to see the Interpreter Foundation book Imperial Triumphant to entertain volunteers, donors, and friends at the Foundation’s annual brisket and pork banquet in north Orem this August. I might even attend with the Relief Society sister in Parowan as my guest.
You and me both!

Re: Ideology, Religion, and Mormonism

For what it's worth I'd agree with your guess, which is more informed than mine, that pre-modern empires didn't think about religion and politics in terms of nation states. I'm pretty sure that Fascists did and do mix myths of pre-modern empire into their nationalism, though. Mussolini and Hitler c...

Re: "Don’t Call Trans People ‘Brave’,” Really?

Hi Mark, FYI, we would not take your article down for posting it in the wrong place. At most, we would move this thread from the “Mormon Discussions” side of the board to the corresponding Kingdom on the Non-Mormon Discussions side of the board — Spirit Paradise. The article your post is based on d...

Is Ed Goble related to Clark Goble?

Goble wasn't an apologist, but he had some very weird ideas about the philosophical aspects of Mormonism. Nice enough guy who tragically died a few years back.
They are not related. I asked Ed once. I was sad when Clark passed away.

Re: Mothers in Zion - why they're leaving

Marcus, I personally know 5 women who commented on that post, where it was their first time vocalizing the deepest feelings of anger and frustration in a public forum. First time ever. I’ve spoken with 2 of them. They are shaking with a mix of overflowing rage and excitement about discovering a col...

Re: Ideology, Religion, and Mormonism

I was struck the other day by the fact that people appear to have forgotten the terrible struggles that got us to the US Constitution. The real one, not the conditional one Trump is willing to set aside if he does not get his way. Think of the religious wars in Europe that cost untold numbers of liv...
