I'm good for my entry, and can probably contribute to a few entries for folks no longer around.

Re: DCP's Fake No Touch Knockout Technique
This 30-minute documentary on fake martial arts is very interesting: https://youtu.be/gjbSCEhmjJA?si=V7JnbObsWlKQKjqM As an ex-Pentecostal and (very bad) jiujiteira, I find the similarities between faith healers and fake martial artists rather fascinating. (My teenage self once came to a Kenneth Hag...

Re: To RFM; Re: Jenn Kamp
I used to work in HR and I currently work for a division of law enforcement that often deals with sex crimes. I was also sexually harassed years ago by someone in academia whose name most people on this forum would recognize. I would say what happened with Rosebud was a form of sexual harassment or ...

Re: To RFM; Re: Jenn Kamp
Complaints to the state bar about an attorney have become commonplace compared to the frequency in past decades. In my legal practice, I sometimes defend other attorneys against whom clients (or even opposing parties) have filed complaints. They almost always are flailing allegations with no eviden...

Re: To RFM; Re: Jenn Kamp
I always thought it was more of a Mopologetic thing than a Mormon thing. I've seen some regular Mormons do it to prog Mormon bloggers as well, though perhaps they were Mopologist-influenced. I was also always surprised by the number of Mormons who tried to tell my first husband about my online acti...

Re: To RFM; Re: Jenn Kamp
I can't facepalm hard enough. Yes, attorneys can "fire" their civil clients. This is well-known vernacular among attorneys for when the attorney terminates the attorney-client relationship and withdraws from a case. Kamp's attorney is/was being disingenuous. Attorneys pretty much only fire their cli...

Re: Too many miles for LDS Jesus
I told a story on here back in 2013 about how my first husband invited the missionaries over under the promise to not try and convert his extremely tired post-partum non-Mormon wife. He kicked out the lying little snots when they wouldn't stop pressuring me to read the Book of Mormon (again) and pra...

Re: Boylan hits a new low
Like time travel or epiphanies? Like, did he ever quote or refer to any ECFs in his writings? If his ideas were similar to some patristic ideas, that in itself isn't proof that he ever picked up an English translation of Augustine or Athanasius or Origen. While the Protestant tradition itself goes ...

Re: Boylan hits a new low
On the one hand, I agree that the Early Church Fathers don't prove Mormonism true. On the other hand, I think Joseph Smith deliberately re-incorporated some ideas from the ECFs, and I don't see why that should be a bad thing. To say that the ECFs don't prove Mormonism true represents a partial unde...
