Re: The burden is now upon those who deny the ancient origins of the Book of Mormon

Rick, it has been stated by one board member that the uncoloured sentence in the following paragraph stands independently from what came before and after (presumably the coloured parts). I haven't seen you address that statement so far. Would you care to comment? It is not necessary to show or even ...

Re: The burden is now upon those who deny the ancient origins of the Book of Mormon

As usual it is a pleasure to see Rick Grunder participate in threads like this. I own a copy of his Mormon Parallels which is an incredible work with over 2300 pages long and more than a million words. Since it is not possible for a single person to actually know all those things, apologist are lef...

Re: How Many People Did the Mopologists Baptize?

I don't know if this is in Dr. Peterson's defense or not, but I served in the Zurich, Switzerland mission in the 90s. It wasn't uncommon for missionaries to go home with the cliche of having had one conversion - themselves. There were months when the mission recorded zero baptisms...that's zero for...

Re: How long/intensely did you believe in the historicity of the Book of Mormon?

Chills: "Mormons are the only group (and an extremely small group) that consider the Book of Mormon to be a complex work describing the incredible history of peoples in the Americas. " The complexity is demonstrable. The antiquity is arguable. Chills: "Non-Mormons see a very obvious work from 19th ...

Re: How long/intensely did you believe in the historicity of the Book of Mormon?

In our little branch in Scotland, during the time that I was BP, we had an all-sister district - 3 or 4 pairs of young ladies, most of whom were not British, and none of whom were Scottish. They often had (almost all male) investigators at church, and "converted" several. I would be their best inve...

Re: How long/intensely did you believe in the historicity of the Book of Mormon?

My heart sank a little, because these were such nice people teaching these things. I bet a lot of girls (outside the US) fall in love with two tall white guys who are nice to them. In our little branch in Scotland, during the time that I was BP, we had an all-sister district - 3 or 4 pairs of young...

Re: Missionary reunions

I somehow doubt that. But just today I was reviewing my mission on Facebook wherein there are quite a few pics posted by people I haven't seen since serving my mission in London, 1982-1984. Good times! And elder Mark E. Peterson who came to visit us was an old crotch. But I think elder Paul H. Dunn...

Nobody expects ...

the breadth and depth of an answer like that of Dr W to a couple of questions, but this is another indication of the knowledge and expertise that is freely shared here, and how fortunate we are to be able to read and learn from experts.

Thank you very much, Dr W!!

Re: Peter Pan from NevilleNevilleLand takes on... Midgley?

I would propose Bruno, Swick & Literski book Method Infinite starts this process well on the way in every way you are describing... Have they been able to tell the truth and remain unmolested in their Mormonism? Does Midgley have dossiers on any of them? I can't speak for Bruno or Swick, but Nick L...
