Re: "Isn't that special?!"-Church Lady, SNL
About 40 years ago I attended a JW "sacrament" meeting, which I believe was held, worldwide, once a year. I was a faithful LDS at that time. As the bread and wine were passed, it appeared to me that nobody partook! I heard later that one person out of the couple of thousand who were in the congrega...

Re: DCP is proudly celebrating Fidelity Month
Perhaps Fidelity Month could be pitched at people who are currently in non-exclusive relationships, of whatever kind, with the suggestion that they could try out fidelity for a month, just to give it a chance. Putting the spotlight instead upon formally committed relationships seems somehow worriso...

Re: "Isn't that special?!"-Church Lady, SNL
There is a corollary in many religions. In the New Testament, it states there will be just 144,000 out of the billions that have inhabited on earth that will be saved. revelations says the 144000 are first fruits. That is not a reason to think only they are saved but it still might be a temptation ...

Re: "Isn't that special?!"-Church Lady, SNL
You know what else of significance the church has not published? The 1978 revelation. We have a statement that a revelation was received (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/od/2?lang=eng), but the revelation, as far as I know, has never seen the light of day. What's go...

Re: Theology: Not Convinced
I wonder if the same Mormon blog ever publishes the various other names of kiwi57. I gather that kiwi is quite sensitive about having his in real life identity associated with his kiwi id, and with his handle on another Mormon-themed discussion board. A quick google search associates Kiwi57 with Ru...

Re: The value of leaving Mormonism and not leaving it alone
We should take some parts of the D&C quite seriously:
I rarely initiate a discussion with a committed member, but I'm prepared to argue my right to comment on Mormonism with anyone.Doctrine and Covenants 88:81 wrote: ... it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor.

Re: Boylan the Writer
Cardon seemed genuinely surprised when Brad and Kwaku were singing his praises. He thought Boylan's website was an amateurish mess. The guest Joel Hansen said he had bought Boylan a new microphone for better sound quality. I'm inclined to agree with Cardon. The new microphone didn't help much. Boyl...

Re: Is the Book of Mormon pornographic?
It's nowhere near as graphical as the Bible. The Book of Mormon does not have stories of beheadings, incest, nudity, rape, parents killing children, divine genocide, etc. I'm sure the evangelicals will think it's a big Mormon plot though. IKR? How dare they omit all of these types of faith-promotin...

Boylan the Writer
There has been some talk here about the tone of some of Boylan's writings - especially his demands for debates, and proclamations of victory when his demands are not met. But what about his other blog entries on Scriptural Mormonism - those in which he is expounding on a topic, rather than attemptin...
