(Sorry I can’t remember where I got it. I find something I want keep and then save it for my own use. This was one of those times.)
Maybe Daniel Peterson quoting David Brooks.

Re: Lars Nielsen's "How the Book of Mormon Came to Pass"

By the way, I don’t know if you all have either seen, read, or discussed Hardy’s “Annotated Book of Mormon”. It’s worth spending time with. Hey, MG. I hope you're well. I believe that there are more than a few here who will have read the book. Maybe you should start a thread and lead a discussion o...

Re: The Body Keeps the Score (book)

Good recommendations, Xenophon.

Though it's a little dated, for someone experiencing PTSD from combat, I'll add Jonathan Shay's Achilles in Vietnam.

Re: The Body Keeps the Score (book)

In truth, Jersey, I probably would--with the caveats that I listed above. I think that PTSD is too easily shrugged off by a misunderstanding public--a tendency this book certainly attempts to remedy. My apologies, Jersey Girl.

Jesus Christ, wrong study. https://www.bmj.com/content/344/bmj.d7622 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7812437/ Thomas, once again: 1) You didn’t read either one of the...

Re: The Body Keeps the Score (book)

Hey, Jersey. Here's my quick and dirty. (For what it's worth, I'm sure it doesn't conform to the popular view of this massive bestseller.) When I started the book, I was pretty impressed with what van der Kolk had to say. Unfortunately, that feeling diminished the farther I got into the author's tre...

I wonder if the journalist was a big burly man with tears in his eyes who called Bednar "Sir."

Re: What's with older men and younger women:

that's not really true once you understand all of those different discussions are part of the same monotonous megathread. I tried reading it, and it's over a hundred pages. Does the thread have Cliff Notes? Yes, it does. That's probably it. It has nothing to do with seeing a dude whose board exista...
