Re: Lds church is wrongly attacked for giving too little to charity....
There is a lot that's funny about DCP's post. He either doesn't quite know what he's talking about, or he's deliberately muddying the waters. The LDS Church is not a "charity." Charities *do* fall under the 501(c)(3) rules of the IRS, but so do "Churches and Religious Organizations." In fact, "Polit...

Re: Interpreter 2.0?
Thanks very much for calling this to our attention, Tom. I'm not quite sure what to make of this development. I hear that Book of Mormon Central has a payroll of some $2 million. Perhaps the Proprietor can phone them up and talk to them about the possibility of hiring a graphic designer? The imagery...

Re: I Can't Eye-Roll Hard Enough Over DCP's Latest
Does Dr. Peterson think that it was okay to put tattoos on Jews during the Holocaust? You know: since they were a “threat” to the 3rd Reich? Or, consider this: who was a bigger “threat”: the Jews to the Nazis, or gay men to heterosexual dudes like DCP or Buckley during the 1980s? Bear in mind that t...

Re: I Can't Eye-Roll Hard Enough Over DCP's Latest
Definitely some interesting things unfolding over at SeN. The poster called “axelbeingcivil” has dredged up an absolutely reprehensible position taken by one of DCP’s idols during the height of the AIDS epidemic. I.e., that every HIV-positive person should have to be tattooed in order to announce th...

Re: SeN on Willard Richards: "unusually bright and capable"? Or Delusional and "Obsessed"?
Why can't it be both? In fact, this seems to be a bit of a confessional of DCP. He is bright and capable AND delusional and obsessed. In fact that's kind of a good description of most Mopologetics. None of them seems dull and incapable. All of them are surely obsessed with defending the truth claim...

SeN on Willard Richards: "unusually bright and capable"? Or Delusional and "Obsessed"?
Over at SeN, Dr. Peterson recently posted a rather long-winded biography of Willard Richards. In conversations about the Witnesses and/or about other early Church leaders, Dr. Peterson seldom ever gets into specifics: it's as if he's reluctant to actually defend his position concerning the credibili...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
The Mopologists are predictably reacting with vindictive glee. It’s not enough for them to simply have the Kirtland temple back; they have to use the occasion to berate the CoC, accuse them of being “apostates,” and to treat the different CoC religious beliefs with mockery and contempt.

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
I do wonder why the money wasn't used to build the FARMS ziggurat . Alternatively, FARMS could have purchased the Kirtland temple, moved it by truck to Provo, and contracted with E. C. Construction Company to reconstruct the temple into a ziggurat. (I suspect that D. Peterson would have been hired ...

Re: Gemli explains...
Some remarkably (or typically?) dishonest/disingenous material from Dr. Peterson, in response to Gemli: gemli: " But golden plates are not observable and testable" Actually, they were observed by between fifteen and twenty people, who, collectively speaking, left behind scores of accounts of what th...

Re: Does DCP want a discussion?
The answer to the opening question is “No.” DCP has never been interested in “conversation” online; he has, almost 100% of the time, been interested in Mopologetics. Things changed somewhat once he moved over into blogging, but his interactions with other people online has been defined by condescens...
