Re: Contact Speaks on Trevor's FAIR Submission
Trevor and Keller both sound like fine gentlemen who proceed with academic integrity and civil behaviour. It seems somewhat likely to me that one result of this debacle could be that neither will be further involved by FAIR in any other endeavours. That would be unfortunate fallout from what WS did....

Re: Save a place in your heart for Will Schryver
It's nice to see that a different perspective can be entertained. I don't usually join in a dog-pile on someone but in this case it was almost compulsory. I can't stand silently by while someone abuses a woman, in any form, verbally, emotionally, whatever, even on a message board. A guy would have a...

Re: Putting it to Rest
Hi KA. The infamy of that little black number has reached all the way up here to the (Not-So) Frozen North, with various threads on it through the years. I am so surprised to see so much material. From the comments I've seen posted here and there, I expected no straps, far less material and massive ...

Re: UPDATE: Further Confirmation Re: MI Budget Cuts
Can it simultaneously be confirmation and speculation ? How well do you know your sources? Are you sure they're not feeding you a line and you're overly anxious to take the bait? Kind of an anti-anti ploy? Whatever anybody's low opinion of Mormon apologists, are they completely and demonstrably stup...

Re: Dr. Scratch is a Fifth Columnist!
When I first started reading here I was trying to keep track of it all and gather facts to try and come up with an informed opinion. Then it all got too much and I got too busy and went away and came back and it was all still here and I tried to pick up the pieces and then started counting the momen...

Dr. Scratch is a Fifth Columnist!
I made one of my infrequent posts at MADB today on a DCP thread. I understand that DCP would feel it necessary to refute at least some of the comments made about some Mormon Church institutions of which he is a part as well as some of the more extreme of the personal comments that are made about him...

Re: New FARMS Journal Debuts On-line
...The Good Professor's announcement came in the wake of a series of allegations concerning the state of Mopologetics and of the MI's financial status: In an obviously desperate attempt to deal with the draconian budget cuts looming before them -- very nearly eighty-eight percent (88%)! -- the lead...

Re: In what kind of forum should we discuss the difficulties
Upon presenting my new found knowledge to my bishop, I was shocked at how little he knew, he did not even know about the Joseph Smith polygamy. Later after he consulted his leadership he told me that studying the deep "dark" church history was more addictive than PORN. Wow. I'm speechless...

Re: Does the GD Manual want me to teach "false" doctrine?
My first calling was to be a teacher in Primary. (Little did I know that all converts are sent to Primary as a first calling, apparently). The very first lesson plan in the teacher's manual included the explanation that as the Bible is imperfect we need the Book of Mormon (paraphrase). I was floored...
