Re: Thomas S. Monson looks terribly unwell.
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865611451/President-Monson-rededicates-Ogden-Utah-Temple.html In the pictures accompanying the article Thomas S. Monson looks like a seriously unwell man. It looks like the prophet's many "handlers" have things under control. Notice how everytime you see...

Re: Thank God for revelation through prayer
Oh, so it is amusing to pray myself to tears? You think that it's some game for me? I worked two years every day telling others to rely on prayer and god for revelation. Two years comforting others with such teachings but when I apply them I get nothing. Yes, I was trying to get a little humor in t...

Re: toxic Mormon modesty
References do exist. Check this out - m This doesn't make it LDS culture, it just makes it something someone promoted in the Friend. Indeed, "someone" who lives and works amongst the largest Mormon community along the Wasatch front, who apparently lives in a vacuum - grabbed a nonsensical...

Re: Dementia And The Actual Truth About President Monson
Something about the video seemed very "cultish". It made my skin crawl. Monson had a smidgen of humor which made everyone around him seem awkwardly uncomfortable. The ladies to his left probably hadn't been laid in a coon's age.
Did I mentioned that it seemed cultish?

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Poetic Justice?...MAX HALL
Cocaine and shoplifting? That is like Jaywalking in the larger scheme of things. If he is injecting the cocaine, or some other drug, then he probably has a drug dependency issue. That is pretty common. Drug dependancy often is not about willpower, bad choices or other judgemental drivel, but about a...

Re: Church goers more likely to stay married
The overall message is that the divorce rate is much less than the popular 50% as touted by the media. That is super. Religious folk who divorce are in the low 20 to teens as a percentage. That tells me that religious people have more common denominators that equate to 3-8 percent lower divorce rate...

A wonderful change occurs after leaving Mormonism. The crotchety opinions of LDS leaders go right into the same mental garbage bin as guys like this:

Moreover, I judge that this is what the evidentiary situation will sustain with regard to the fundamental and crucial claims of Christian theism in general and the claims of the Restoration in particular — and I strongly suspect that this is exactly where the evidentiary situation is divinely inten...

Re: a questions about pensions
Since I am newly retired, and in doing so, found out I have a pension to fund my retirement (which was a huge and very pleasant surprise), I have a question about CES employees. Do CES employees (specifically BYU professors) have a pension? (the old fashioned kind that is built on years of service,...
