Re: Unknown LDS history is the cancer that plauges membership?

... There you have it Danny ... On behalf of God's One True Church, I will respond in place of the usual polemicists -- The Methodist Church does not go into detail about Abraham's family life. The Baptist Church does not go into detail about Jacob's family life. And we do not go into detail about ...

Unknown LDS history is the cancer that plauges membership?

In the recent Mormon Expressions podcast, George talks about his journey to where he is today, which look to me like boarderline NOM leaning towards exmormonism. However, that is not my topic. My topic for discussion is an event in George's life which he discusses in the podcast. His kids attend a m...

Re: MMM was a few people out of control; church was not involved

UD that was a great summary. My observations of defending believers of LDS is that they get as close to the line of admitting the church was to blame as they can. But to cross that line and admit the church was to blame would be too much for them to bear and could cause further doubts. Cinepro had a...

Re: MMM was a few people out of control; church was not involved

too bad they didn't drown them. Then they could say it was a few baptisms that got out of control. "Ohhh my bad!", exclaimed Brother Lee, "baptisms FOR the dead!, I thought Brigham asked us baptize these folks until they were dead." "Someone call the YM/YW presidents we now...

MMM was a few people out of control; church was not involved

Duhborah, err Deborah on yonder board made the following statement in a reply to a question about chapel-vs-internet Mormons : MMM for example was a few people who got out of control; it had nothing to do with the church. Is this a case of an a reluctant internet Mormon who pines for the days of her...

Re: Recent Debate with the Elders and Bishop

Now if this were my wife,.... You already told us that you aren't married , so again you have no grounds to speak about another topic which you have no experience. To recap, you haven't attended Mormon church services in 30 years, and you aren't married. Yet you feel you can give advice concerning ...

Re: Sacred, not secret

m I wonder... If Elder Holland would not also walk out of a taped interview, so constructed as to eventually get around to the question: "Regarding the Hill Cumorah in Manchester, New York; is it not true that Brigham Young said...." ??? What Hubbard and Young said, are things too sacred ...

Re: Breaking your loved ones hearts: telling them the news.

30 huh? What type of beliefs do they have now? It is interesting to see how exmos see their new reality. Some are social Christians, but my two brothers, their wives and kids along with my wife and kids, I'd say we are agnostic leaning atheists. But seriously, none of us really care. Why spend time...

Re: Recent Debate with the Elders and Bishop

Don't you just love it when a plan to disprove you completely backfires? Kevin is lucky I'm not his hometeacher or bishop or perhaps very unlucky depending on how you look at it. What. EVER. Neener neener neener, LDS Inc is losing another tithe payer FOREVER, along with all generations of future ti...
