Church Shipping Out New Tithing Slips
Sorry if this has already been discussed. But, apparently the church is now shipping new donation forms to wards and branches in the U.S. Things like the education fund, temple fund, etc. are no longer a seperate line item. Also, the following statement now appears at the bottom of the donation slip...

Tobin,
Have you read Palmer's book?
Have you listened to his podcasts on Mormon Stories (the first one and now the recent one)?

Re: G.Palmer Mormon Discussions Podcast on Joseph Smith Sexu
I would also like to know which allegations from William Law were false. Tobin obviously feels very passionately about William Law, so he/she must have a very good reason for it. Tobin, we are all waiting for you to list the allegations from William Law that are false. Also, what lies can you find ...

Re: The Mormon Time Bomb for Mitt
I think a lot of our true church history events will come out and will not be viewed in a positive light (ie. Joseph Smith's polyandry, etc.).
It also seems to shock many that we believe Jesus and Satan are brothers.

Re: LDS Scholar Terryl Givens: “It is an epidemic.”
This is why you hear nothing of substance from Monson. I agree. This and also because he doesn't want to be quoted in 10 years as speaking as a Prophet of God only to be proven wrong. That's why they now use or allow apologists to do all the heavy lifting when it comes to doctrinal issues. When was...

Re: LDS Scholar Terryl Givens: “It is an epidemic.”
"Chapel Mormons" are aware of the issues raised by anti Mormons. Only in the fantasy ward you must attend every week. Just had a long talk with my parents last week. Dad is a two time bishop, stake presidency etc. Neither my mom or dad had heard of any of these issues with the exception o...

Re: Jaredite Studies: The Maritime Myth of the Book of Ether
You state that this scenario was the "best possible option"? Really? You honestly believe this was the best that an all powerful God could do? That's hilarious! If God could perform miracles for these righteous people, why didn't he? Why make them suffer? Why use means that are physically...

Re: Jaredite Studies: The Maritime Myth of the Book of Ether
Even if one buys into Tobin's only defense that "God did it". Who would want to believe in or worship or trust a God who does these types of things to his loyal followers? Sounds like a harsh punishment to me! Tobin, you keep falling back on the only thing you can (that God can perform mi...

Re: Jaredite Studies: The Maritime Myth of the Book of Ether
Food for thought : Each metric ton of fresh water contributes to more that in a metric ton of urine, feces, sweat and carbon dioxide, all of which need to be quickly removed from the barges once created. Given the design of the barges as described in the Book of Ether, removal would not have been p...

Re: What The LDS Church Tells Young Women
The reason why Church leaders want Mormon women to marry young is NOT because Church leaders are sexists (maybe they are, but that is not why they want Mormon women to marry young), but because the longer a Mormon woman puts off marriage, the "larger" her circle of non-LDS friends and acq...
