Re: Fairmormon's T. I. T. S.

Welcome Mixman. I hope you enjoy being here. What do you think about the response you received? I think he deflected my response and then shifted the conversation to make me look like I didn't even watch them. I find it gross that he thinks the videos are doing good to the youth of the church. If t...

Re: Fairmormon's T. I. T. S.

They attacked the original CES letter for being amateurish - not up to their standard, I guess. Then when the author made improvements, they attacked it for not being the straightforward letter that it started out as. And still, after all this time, they find just 44% of the latest document to be e...

Re: Fairmormon's T. I. T. S.

These videos give solid refutations of critical claims by the CES Letter. If youth dismiss the letter as a result, we believe that is a good result. Inasmuch Jeremy Runnels fabricated a narrative that the letter is the result of sincere questions (he mined the ex Mormon sub-reddit for his questions...

Re: Kwaku El posts violent anti-Dehlin video

My feeble little mind seems to conclude that Quacko did not make or endorse the violent video but simply retweeted it. BUT, his big mistake was in retweeting it. He should not have done that. To make matters worse he did not condemn it. I understand he hasn't graduated from BYU? Could it be that th...

Re: Fairmormon's T. I. T. S.

I just had another quick peek at one of the videos.

I wonder if they are trying to use the format of TYT, in the hopes that that is attractive to "youth".

Kwaku El posts violent anti-Dehlin video

This is unbelievable! Kwaku El of FairMormon just tweeted this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oolF0q_ ... e=youtu.be

The beating starts around 1:45

What is wrong with these people

Edit: added time when beating starts

Re: A big hello

It doesn't really matter to me. If he wants to be Bob, he's Bob. If he wants to identify his past nicks, that's up to him. Right. It's no big deal. It's whatever Bob wants! Isn't that right, Bob? :D Would it be too big a clue if I were to claim him as the brother of one of my parents? https://en.wi...

Re: Carmack/Skousen: "Virtually none of the grammatical variants listed in section 4-archaic grammar are archaic."

One should notice that the shorter the example (individual word meanings and short phrases) the greater the odds that our initial analysis was correct. Here is one of those uses of statistics that gives rise to the phrase, "lies, damned lies, and statistics." The four categories that he uses each e...

Re: More History of Apologetics

It's not a monolith. A monolith is rectangular with dimensions 1:4:9. Hey, just be glad it stood a righteous vigilance in Utah and will now be able to partake in Polylithy. So, not that the 'mono' prefix has been demolished, how about the 'lith' part? Shouldn't a '-lith' be made of rock? https://ww...

Re: Putting things on the shelf, is unhealthy, doesn't work - says BYU Professor

Church Leaders are telling young people to doubt their doubts, put things on the shelf as they will be resolved in the next life. Is that good advice? I've been a member a long time and have never heard "put it on the shelf" as advice. My experience with bishops, stake presidents and the general au...
