Re: Radio Free Mormon: Why Are Mormons So Fake
My GF is a nevermo Christian and visited Utah for the first time a while back. Her take away is that a lot of people want a really big house whether they can afford it or not. Now, this of course is not unique to Mormons but there is an added fact that they have to appear so happy all the time and h...

Re: Why did you look?
I gotta be honest now. It was a good part this very place that made me really start looking. Way to go, MDB. You are responsible! Nah there are people who would like to tell me I was unfairly compromised and persuaded to leave due to the bad folks around here. But it really isn't true. I mean think ...

Re: Why did you look?
followed by a movie for everyone to watch me commit the sins and then life on the Telestial. I remember someone telling that too. All the bad things you ever did are going to be displayed on a big movie screen for everyone to see. Oh, GAWD, Stupid damned Mormons. Right? It used to terrify me ...

Re: Why did you look?
I probably shouldn't have said that about porn and weed because it's not true. I mean, I did have guilt for looking at the swimsuit and underwear sections of various clothing catalogs like Lands End, Mervyns, and jc penny. The guilt was bad enough that I really believed I had a serious enough proble...

Re: Why did you look?
I had a porn problem and wanted to smoke weed and felt like studying church history was the best way to deal with the obsession.
Later on, when my dad asked me if the reason for my questioning was porn, I was able to tell him he was absolutely correct! Both my dad and Neal Maxwell were both correct!

Honor,
If you don't mind, what is meant by your phrase, "too far the other way"?
Thanks,

[puts on mopologist hat]Come on, Zeezrom! Next you'll claim you never heard about Fanny Alger despite having taken four years of Seminary and graduated from Institute/BYU and taught Gospel Doctrine or something similar. Or you were surprised to learn there were more than the official version of the...

shulem,
Th e story in Exodus is exaggerated , most obviously in the number of people involved.
This could make a good argument for Joseph Smith's divinity. Similar to the words of the Bible, passages in the Book of Mormon also exaggerate numbers of people.

Uhh, guys?
I grew up Mormon and I never considered a day other than April 6 to be his actual bday. Until now, I thought this was common knowledge among us Mormons.

Re: Apostles - We’re not business leaders, we don’t have it
The focus is on what the Lord wants and how He wants us to do that. Luke 14:12-14 He said also to the one who had invited him, ‘When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, in case they may invite you in return, and you would...
