Re: Ties and white shirts are no longer required at Church.

It says not to wear clothing that would detract from the worship and covenant making of the sacrament. I have no doubt that there will be more than just a few bishops out there that will enforce white shirts and ties on the basis of other colors and lack of tie detracting from the worship and covena...

Re: 2nd Volume Of Saints - Prophets are blinded by the momen

About 45 years ago, the Church was poised to publish the definitive history of the Church. As I recall, the project was terminated before publication. Too honest, I suppose. Was that what Arrington was working on? The brethren probably killed it when they noticed it failed to make clear that Willia...

Re: Radio Free Mormon - Defender of the Faith

The Mormon church sure loves to congratulate itself on how much it knows about God, but the details used to support this argument are inconsequential! God has a physical body?!?! What does that even mean when you can move through space instantly and have all of time before you as if it was one insta...

Re: 2nd Volume Of Saints - Prophets are blinded by the momen

I'm a glutton for punishment, so I'll probably read this and review it. I actually thought Volume 1 was about as good as I could expect for a devotional history put out by the church, but then I got to the parts discussing William Law and it all went to hell. Anyone, with anything negative to say ab...

Re: John Dehlin on the Immorality of Mormonism!

What was it Elder Holland more recently said about the Book of Mormon? "I testify that one cannot come to full faith in this latter-day work—and thereby find the fullest measure of peace and comfort in these, our times—until he or she embraces the divinity of the Book of Mormon and the Lord ...

Re: John Dehlin on the Immorality of Mormonism!

During a period of being a poor student I lived next to a couple who were, frankly, criminals. They were supporting a drug habit and spoke about crime as if it were just another job a person might have. They had a son who was about 5 or 6 and he spoke of being a criminal as if they were his heroes ...

Re: John Dehlin on the Immorality of Mormonism!

How does it happen that people hide information that advantages them and disadvantages others? Really? When one of your starting assumptions for the foundation of your moral thinking is that the universe is ruled by a cosmic alpha ape who values loyalty-testing for its own sake, and that getting on...
