Re: Roe on the Chopping Block
My right-wing friend is a huge pro-lifer and born again. If there is one topic that makes him angrier than all others, it's abortion. I always remind him that by his own accounts, he's a career womanizer and pervert. No man with his profile has ever really cared whether a woman gets an abortion, and...

Re: The distance between Christianity and the 4 Gospels
Suicide bombers can say the same thing 2.0. Nobody can say for sure that God doesn't order suicide bombings. Suicide bombers also look through a glass darkly. They don't completely understand the nature and character of God, there is plenty of room for faith.

Re: Are school shootings the price we have to pay for the second amendment?
A news item I saw said there are potential federal charges against the parents for a "straw purchase". Purchasing a gun for a recipient otherwise not allowed to purchase it, such as a minor. If I were a Dem leader, I'd comb those right-wing "merry christmas" gun posts for potential minors holding gu...

Re: The distance between Christianity and the 4 Gospels
So if I use the term, "emergence" in the strongly unsupported way of describing, "That which we don't understand but appears to be more than the sum of what we understand of prior conditions, which prior conditions we do have a better understanding of currently" I'm fine with the person not liking ...

Re: Are school shootings the price we have to pay for the second amendment?
I was a school administrator. We tried to get volunteers. After the first couple of weeks they just didn't show up. As far as helping with bullies, no parent wants an unknown, untrained volunteer counseling or disciplining their child. Great points. From what a teacher friend of mine tells me, no p...

He was depressed, struggling, and most of the adults in his life were doing their best to help. I have a similar situation in my family, though the person was older. Everybody goes through mentally trying events. Not everyone is mentally ill. I highly doubt that Sauer kid was mentally ill. In all t...

Re: The Top Ten Happenings in Mopologetics, 2021
Another tremendous contribution to the understanding of Mopologetics unworthy of the Mopologists themselves, Doctor Scratch. It's crazy when you think about just how fiercely they attacked Ben Park for a minor error while giving a free pass to Thompson and refusing to even acknowledge any criticism ...

At least with this latest attempt to stop the stealing, someone is actually stealing something. lol.Florida officials announced Thursday that they have created a new task force to fight shoplifting.

Re: Are school shootings the price we have to pay for the second amendment?
If I'm reading this right, your solution is basically to merge schools with retirement communities and police precincts. It's a huge amount of effort on behalf of the rest of society to maintain the privilege of a few people who for the most part are just collectors, if it wasn't guns, it would be ...

Re: Are school shootings the price we have to pay for the second amendment?
It's a semi automatic and shoots incredibly fast follow up shots. Also, I hunt with a 10mm semi automatic handgun. Every once in a while I'll go to the mountains to hunt and use an AR10, also semi automatic sure, the point wasn't that these guns aren't effective. You could take your local militia t...
