Re: Bible translation preferences
When I want to look up a Biblical reference, I'll often refer to a couple of translations. I usually include the KJV because that's the version I was raised on. But I'll also read one or more of the more modern translations. Do you look up the refs online or do you own the various translations? And...

Re: Bible translation preferences
I'm guessing a "daily devotional" is a short written spiritual or inspirational message followed by scripture references for further study? Sorta kinda, yes. Devotionals could be in small booklet form, calendars, whole books, and there are plenty online these days. I found this one for men. I am no...

Re: Bible translation preferences
Depends. I refer to the KJV when I want to reference a verse for purposes of prose or poetry. It's familiar and has an aesthetic. If I am looking for text out of interest in meaning and purpose, I tend to make use of the comparative bible websites to get perspective on the text. I could not possibl...

Re: Bible translation preferences
Like you, I was raised with KJV. I’m not sure if there were other versions around at the time. Oh, boy, I’m getting old! I hear that! The KJV seems to have gotten it's fair share of criticism but it's what I prefer. Always. I participated in Bible Study Fellowship https://www.bsfinternational.org/ ...

Re: The Score So Far (Health & Fitness)
One of my Facebook friends posted a photo of soup that she made. She sent me the recipe. I'm definitely going to make it but I'm going to modify it. It's all veggies which is fine but I need protein in my life. I'm going to add quinoa to it. Sharing in case anyone would like to try it. I can't give ...

Re: Wondering about Atheist Programs for Children
I think the OP is poorly worded. It assumes that atheists organize and deliver children's program...for what exactly? The question should've been inquiring if there are religion-free experiences for children and as you can see by the posts on this thread, KS, there are perhaps a majority of religion...

Bible translation preferences
Hey Folks, I was just thinking about this before turning in for the night. I engage in Bible Study and do daily devotions. Sometimes I skip around between the two. Sometimes I skip days entirely. Sometimes I just read what I want to go over. Anyway, regardless what study tool I am using, I always re...

Re: O Come O Come Emmanuel
Quote the scripture you're referring to. There's only one verse in Isaiah 7 that contains the prophecy you refer to? Oh sorry, Jersey Girl, I thought I had quoted it. Matthew 1:21-23 quotes Isaiah 7:14. The part of Isaiah 7 that makes it clear that 7:14 does not refer to a birth 700 years later is ...
