Re: 92,000 BSA sex abuse claims

I am curious about how this works. My memory of scouting was there was no occasion I can remember where we were alone and vulnerable to a predatory leader. So how did this work in those places there was a problem? I was unaware of any problem happening. In an LDS setting how did a leader bypass the ...

There is not a a lot of comparisons, or majority of possible comparisions where Mr Peterson would appear to be a near saint but this is one where he does.

Re: 92,000 BSA sex abuse claims

I am a bit older and little factories and licked cupcakes played not memorable role in the teaching I received. From the references to these ways of teaching I have heard I do wonder if they do a much inferior job of teaching.... A little bit off topic, but I wanted to come back and say to huckelbe...

Re: 92,000 BSA sex abuse claims

I have a feeling this is more why the Church distanced itself from the BSA, rather than the letters move to inclusive and non discrimination on sexuality. Does anyone know if the Church retains liability for historical cases involving LDS troops? I think the same. A relative in their 40s recently c...

Re: SeN: "Hope for immortality" is a Useful Salve for Childhood "rape and strangulation."

He needed psychopaths and narcissists so he could find reason to really stick it to any non-psychos who get confused, lose their way and indelibly get caught up in Lucifer's chains. ....... Dastardly stem, This sounds so silly that a person might consider whether the theoretical theology it is base...

Re: A Special Video Message of Hope and Healing Is Coming From the Prophet November 20

Shulem, I checked my calendar, November 20 is only four days away. That is less than a week so your impatience does not have to endure as long as you feared. I clearly have less anticipation for this event than you may have so I find myself thinking that waiting either a week or four days is not a p...

Re: Folding like Darwin's House of Cards?

Many of these archaic usages look plausible to me as mistakes that an uneducated person might make in trying to use the word less archaically. "Desirous" for "desirable", for instance, or "whereby" for "why". People I know occasionally use "whereby" today; I think of "whereby" as the same as "by wh...

Re: Confessions of a CES Director

"The Brotherhood of Unsavory Secrets." A classic line. :D I imagine many of us were members of the "Brotherhood" for years before the light broke through the clouds and we saw that the Church didn't have 200 issues, it had one issue. Another great podcast, Consig. and Thanks to bro. McLemore too! I...

Re: Is Something "Amiss" at "Mormon Interpreter"?

I am not sure of this conclusion but I do not think it is thoughtless. Dr Moore posted not long ago, previous board: . by Dr Moore » Thu Oct 08, 2020 11:14 am "I would love to know where to find the apologetic answer on FAIR Mormon. "Why didn't Joseph Smith make daily study of the Book of Mormon a p...
