Re: Skousen Fireside in Cedar City

Did anyone else see this exchange of posts at MDDB? DonBradley, on 26 June 2012 - 01:53 PM, said: Will, I really appreciate your checking with Royal on that and clarifying it here. Best wishes in your Book of Abraham paper with him. Any idea when or where we might see that? These text-critical issue...

Re: Skousen Fireside in Cedar City

Ask him if he even knows Will. I bet he's never even met the guy. Thanks, Hasa Diga Eebowai A little while ago I spoke on the phone with someone I know who is in Schryver's ward (as I used to be, for a few months, prior to my divorce and a stake reorg about a year ago). She told me the following: -...

Re: Are DR. Peterson and his followers guilty of pride?

The very fact of how you phrase the thread title ("Dr. Peterson and 'his followers'") indicates to me that this is a clear-cut case of priestcraft. Peterson is the modern day equivalent of the people in the Book of Mormon who gathered about them "followers" to oppose the church.

"Of 'Mormon Studies' and Apologetics"

I must really be bored this summer as I patiently await the start of new school year. Since I read Peggy Fletcher Stack's article about the reorganization of the Maxwell Institute, I have found myself following the ongoing debates about what happened and why. I was beginning to believe, as late as t...

Re: Skousen Fireside in Cedar City

Ask him if he even knows Will. Here is what Schryver wrote in his announcement of the fireside at MDDB: Royal Skousen and his wife are making their annual pilgrimage to Cedar City, Utah where they will be staying at the Hotel Schryver, attending a performance of Les Miserables at the nationally ren...

Re: Skousen Fireside in Cedar City

Yes. Ask him what sort of rebuke he received from the Brethren for publishing his original text through a non-LDS publisher without letting the Brethren censor it first. Not sure that would go over too well. What do you think? I think I'd rather ask something that you can say in polite company, but...

Re: David B. Speaks

Wowzer!

This whole thing just gets curiouser and curiouser. I never would have thought BYU was such a soap opera of intrigue, back-stabbing, and back-room dealing.

I was just talking to my TBM neighbor. She thinks the world might very well end tomorrow as a result of this.

Skousen Fireside in Cedar City

I saw this posted on the Mormon Dialogue board:

Recovering the Original Text of the Book of Mormon

Although I'm not really that interested, I'm thinking I might go to this just so I can ask Skousen what he thinks about the recent events at the MI.

Any other ideas for questions I might ask him?
