Re: Is Schyver Nibley's Biological Son?
Schryver himself has encouraged this rumor. Is it true? I don't know. Often times things related to Mopologetics are much stranger than fiction. As Kevin and others in this thread have pointed out, it would explain a lot about the reasons why Will was given access to sensitive Church materials. Is ...

Re: Retrench or Mainstream: The choice has been made
For years I've thought that the LDS church is facing a crossroads due to the increased information available on the internet. They could either choose to retrench and purge (a choice they made post-Arrington) or become more tolerant of divergent views and deliberately choose NOT to purge. This is n...

Re: Tal Bachman: Eulogy for Daniel C. Peterson
pretty spot on if you ask me Yes, and Bachman is an excellent writer. Why doesn't he come on this board? It seems like he would fit in a lot better here than at RFM. I've decided that RFM is not the place for me, or thefoyer.org, or even postmormon.org. Too much anger. I've gotten to the point now ...

Re: Is Schyver Nibley's Biological Son?
Since FAIR and Hamblin have decided that Bradford's refusal to address this issue concedes his guilt and confirms Hamblin's version of things, I wonder if they were also willing to apply that logic to this situation, where the apologists in the know have remained conspicuously silent on this matter...

Tal Bachman: Eulogy for Daniel C. Peterson
Peggy Fletcher Stack's story has me reading all about the interesting developments at the Neal A. Maxwell Institute. I found this at the Recovery from Mormonism message board:

Re: Hamblin’s Unmodulated Blog
I'd be the first person to say that I don't much care for Will Schryver, as he knows, but I take no pleasure in the fact that his work on the Book of Abraham was suppressed for these reasons. Let me be clear: I find his behavior and online persona to be largely boorish and repugnant. Having said th...

Re: Dan Peterson's Poor Judge of Character: Redux
This is the same guy who attacked me for calling Wells Jakeman an idiot. Once you understand what a whack-job pseudo-scholar Jakeman was, and how Dan Peterson likened him to Einstein, suddenly it doesn't come as a surprise that he has decided to bond with William Schryver. This is the same guy who ...

Re: Fox Advocacy Group Declares Romney Non-Christian
I guess we’ll never know how much of his vulgar misogyny came through in his “work,” as you call it. And others will he pacify, and lull them away into carnal security, that they will say: All is well in Not-Zion; yea, Not-Zion prospereth, all is well—and thus the devil cheateth their souls, and le...

Re: Fox Advocacy Group Declares Romney Non-Christian
I think MsJack should be one of the most popular people among respectable Mormon apologists. After all, she saved you and all your friends from the embarrassment of being associated with Will Schryver and his vulgar and deceptive apologetic nonsense. Rather than treating her with contempt, FARMS sh...

Re: The future of Jesus Jammies
As an OrthoMo recently "endowed" (what a funny term), I used to fantasize about the church someday moving from garments as a reminder of covenants to just a necklace or a ring or something. After all, they changed the garments from one piece long Johns to shorter two-piecers. Anything is ...
