Re: Mormons ignoring Jesus as quoted in the gospel of Matthew
I already told you I am not a moral absolutist, having said that I can think of 0 contexts in which I could justify owning another human as chattel property. As noted, I am more moral than your god.

Re: Mormons ignoring Jesus as quoted in the gospel of Matthew
I am not a moral absolutist, but I am more moral than a god who condoned slavery and gave instructions to what degree you can beat you slaves without incurring a penalty. I condemn all slavery. So there is that. Do we make an absolute moral judgement on everyone who had slaves? Even though in the a...

Re: Mormons ignoring Jesus as quoted in the gospel of Matthew
Situational ethics... Like this? That which is wrong under one circumstance, may be, and often is, right under another. God said, "Thou shalt not kill;" at another time He said, "Thou shalt utterly destroy." This is the principle on which the government of heaven is conducted--by revelation adapted ...

Re: Mormons ignoring Jesus as quoted in the gospel of Matthew
Are you willing to knowingly take this hoped for course of being saved/exalted with the knowledge that you have now? I have no expectation of salvation nor exaltation. Dead is dead. The question I would put to you is why would you wait? And the second question is do YOU think that knowing what you ...

Re: Mormons ignoring Jesus as quoted in the gospel of Matthew
When the Lord spoke to Jeremiah He told him to go down to the potter's house, and there he would cause him to hear His words. When he went down to the potter's house, "Behold, he wrought a work on the wheels." The potter tried to bring a lump of clay in subjection, and he worked and tugged at it, b...

Re: Mormons ignoring Jesus as quoted in the gospel of Matthew
You want me to take the word of the same guy that in his pre earthly sojourn, while Jehovah of the Old Testament was quite all right with slavery, rape and infanticide? And for those gospel "quotes" we have 0 contemporary sources of him having actually said anything at all?
Hard pass.

Re: Debate: Capitalism vs. Socialism
Unfettered capitalism leads to corporate servitude. Unfettered socialism can lead to unproductiveness. The best answer is probably a blend of both. Oh look at what is occurring in Northern Europe.

Aron Ra reading and discussing the Book of Mormon with a group of folk on Youtube is a hoot.
