Re: Mormons arguing that “Mormon” is as derogatory as the N-word

I’m interested in hearing what you see as the the material differences between Brigham Young, and Bundy & Hussein. Well, Bundy was a serial killer. Right? It is hard to find a more flawed and indecent human being than a serial killer, who violates the most basic principles of mutual social obligati...

But do you assess them as “relatively decent” individuals in the same way that you have assessed Brigham Young to be “relatively decent” individual. If not, what is the difference you’re seeing?
Isn’t the difference kind of obvious? I would consider Bundy mostly indecent.

Have you told that story here or elsewhere online? I hope it will be preserved in some way.
I have recounted it is some form here, but I don’t recall the thread. Someday I may recount it in greater detail.

Re: Mormons arguing that “Mormon” is as derogatory as the N-word

I think there’s a difference between someone doing something decent every now and again, and someone who is decent. Brigham Young may have done a decent thing every now and again. But other people of his time being as bad as he, bad things happening to him and his etc does not excuse him from stand...

Criticism of historical figures is a practically irresistible pastime.
In your opinion, is it ever justified? If so, who?
Ever justified? The act of critiquing historical figures is ALWAYS justified.

Criticism of historical figures is a practically irresistible pastime. Brigham can take it, I’d wager. He’s tough.

Re: Have you ever met a Mormon General Authority…

These are cool stories, much better than mine. I have shaken a few GA hands, but that is about it. My closest encounter was an interview with a Seventy when I applied for a job at BYU. That was memorable.
