Re: Disrobing temple patrons before letting EMS transport them

Having temple staff move the ill or injured patron out of the ordinance room, having them remove the patron's temple garb, etc., so that in a potentially life-and-death emergency (stroke, heart attack, whatever) non-Mormon EMS personnel - WHO ARE THERE TO SAVE LIVES - won't defile the temple by see...

Re: Barcelona Temple, not really in Barcelona, but is in an affluent area.

I can't think of any temples that I have personally seen that aren't in affluent neighborhoods, or that aren't prominently situated on a hill or in a bustling downtown setting. I don't know how temples sites are selected outside the U.S., but it's a bit of a spiritual turn-off to be driving among th...

Re: A real Mormon? How can you tell?

In the thread about an insinuation that John Dehlin was not a real Mormon, we don't have a definition of what a real Mormon is. The LDS Church counts anyone that has been baptized or who is not yet 8 years old but lives in a household of Mormon parent(s). If that is not the badge of being a real Mo...

Re: Tapirback rider

And, another one that will get a smile from you is his parody of "Don't Stand So Close to Me" by The Police. It's about David Bednar's facepalm moment some years ago when, in a fireside at some meetinghouse, he flexed his apostolic muscle and waited until he was good and ready before standing up, fo...

Re: Tapirback rider

Weird Alma writes some good parodies on Mormonism and Mopologetics. And, assuming his does his own instrumentations, he's a solid musician, to boot. Here's one his songs, a parody of "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, that made me laugh inappropriately: https://weirdalma.bandcamp.com/album/straight-outta...

Re: Mormon Dishonest History

The full leadership of the Mormon church being put on explicit notice by 1922 by B.H. Roberts and others that both the Book of Mormon and Book of Abraham contained significant scientific problems, and then hiding this information from members for another almost 100 years, and seeking to suppress th...

Re: Membership Likely To Peak At Or Just Below 6 Million Active Members

An expanding Mormon church indicates its truthfulness. A contracting Mormon church also indicates its truthfulness. It's strange, but pop-theology in Mormonism is able to look at the realities surrounding the church and interpret them as signs of the church's truthfulness. Apart from what the smug "...

Re: Is DCP's New Film Already Dead?

I'm sorry to hear about "Six Days in August" having early production issues.

"Witnesses" was a fine piece of cinema. I admit my surprise that anybody who saw it wouldn't be looking forward to the next film executive-produced by Dan.
