Re: Can we get a Rosebud mega thread like we did for Doubting Thomas?

Nah, shutting her out would be removing her ability to start threads. Not to mention that Shades would never stand for that!!!

Asking for a megathread is just asking to combine the repetitiveness of her starting posts. Precedent is well established for this.

Re: Can we get a Rosebud mega thread like we did for Doubting Thomas?

... The Rosebud situation will not change due to how related posts are arranged... No argument there!!!! On the other hand, there is clearly precedent for combining multiple, repetitive threads from a single author about the same topic into a megathread. Currently having the physical space to...

Re: DCP Admits that Joseph Smith's Polygamy was "Probably" Motivated by "Sexual Desire"

There’s a catch-22 with those marriages. Either Joseph deprived these young women of romantic life, or he groomed them for his own sexual gratification. There’s no way Joseph comes out looking like anything other than a creep with the underage marriages.. That’s it in a nutshell. yes it is. It’s in...

Re: Can we get a Rosebud mega thread like we did for Doubting Thomas?

There can be drawbacks to very long threads. We once had a thread where a fellow posted the Bible in bite sized pieces. May have seemed rather pointless, the Bible being available for all, but was intended to invite discussion I think. There actually were some good discussions from Dan McClellan in...

Re: Can we get a Rosebud mega thread like we did for Doubting Thomas?

This would work for me except that I have to be able to address different audiences and topics. For example, the owner of the Rosebud Wiki won’t see a post unless I title it something like “To the Owner of the Rosebud Wiki.” Whomever that is would likely never dig through a thread. And do you think...

Re: Mormons arguing that “Mormon” is as derogatory as the N-word

Let’s stick with Bundy. Are you saying that all deaths are morally equal? That the serial killer and the prophet both cause death and are therefore moral equals? No way, Brigham did not leave any bite marks. BY's crushed glass mixed in flour leaves a type of bite mark I suppose. Plus, If I recall c...

Re: Can we get a Rosebud mega thread like we did for Doubting Thomas?

I’d suggest it’d serve everyone’s interests in that we avoid all the annual Rosebud spam and Rosebud has one thread in which her documentation is collated, so to speak. It’d act as both an east-to-find repository for, uh, historians, and clean up whatever fart bubble pops up in her some. What say y...

Re: Why is it that the exMormon men think publicly lying about and defaming women is the best strategy?

John stopped an office romance before it got out of hand... ??? I am curious at what point you consider his behavior in this situation to be 'in hand'? Was it when he was having some sort of relationship with someone who worked for him, but before he got her fired? Do you think his wife thought tha...

Re: DCP Admits that Joseph Smith's Polygamy was "Probably" Motivated by "Sexual Desire"

is he actually referring to sexual desire beyond that for his legal wife? Let me be more specific. Peterson is discussing, and defining as normal and expected, Smith's sexual desire for his (multiple!!) other illegal and immoral conquests, beyond that of his wife to whom he was legally wed, correct...

Re: DCP Admits that Joseph Smith's Polygamy was "Probably" Motivated by "Sexual Desire"

Was there an element of sexual desire in at least some of his marriages? Probably. Sexual desire exists in most marriages, I hope. It would be a very sad marriage that was completely without it. is he actually referring to sexual desire beyond that for his legal wife? Let me be more specific. Peter...
