Re: Are people really basically good?
I think seeing their peers let off easy for similar offenses by the liberal controlled justice system and the media helping them shift any blame and personal responsibility for their actions had far more influence on these eight individuals than anything written in the Old Testament about the patri...

Re: Are people really basically good?
But only white patriarchy and misogyny and due to southern white culture right? Surely it's not possible for a black man to be misogynist? I don't know why you're asking these silly questions. The patriarchy and misogyny that is ingrained in many facets of American culture isn't race specific. Ther...

Re: Are people really basically good?
Black Americans are overwhelmingly Christian, and in comparison to white Americans So do you think Christianity is responsible for so many black children having to raise themselves? Is Christianity what motivated these eight individuals? No. Christianity very much likely will be why they feel no pe...

[...]and no religious upbringing (liberal democrat black communities) been? Black Americans are overwhelmingly Christian, and in comparison to white Americans, have a very (very) small percentage that have no belief in God. In fact, black Americans are Christian at a higher rate that the general po...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
Chances are 100% that the Church will eventually make the Kirtland temple a functioning temple (although, the way things are going, there will not be many members left in the U.S. in 15 years). The Church will build a visitor's center on the grounds which will be open to the public . Problem solved...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million
Looking through the document list, as well as the real estate lots/plots and buildings, I can't help but wonder what some of this stuff would have realized at auction. I think the price tag shows that the CoC was looking to ensure these items were preserved, and kept "available" more-so than to cash...

Re: Gemli explains...
I thought I was done with quotes for a while, but this doozy of a nonsensical argument by Peterson is just bizarre. 16 hours ago edited gemli: "True claims are those that are acknowledged by all rational observers." That's a transparently ridiculous assertion, and an obviously false one. The Dow Jo...

Re: Supreme Court Puts Trump Back on the Ballot
Kind of interesting little tidbit, and peak behind the curtain, gleaned from the mistaken inclusion of metadata in the released decision(s). The Supreme Court ruled that an individual state may not disqualify a presidential candidate from the ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which bars ...

Re: Supreme Court Puts Trump Back on the Ballot
How can you argue that Jan 6 was an insurrection when nothing was stopped. Using this logic, the only way an Insurrectionist could be charged in the US would be if it were by the Insurrectionists themselves. Because, unless an Insurrection is successful, it wasn't really one. So, you'd have to have...
