Re: Bandwagon effects & Mormonism's online comeuppance

Excellent post. I remember when there were only a few websites/chatrooms that were critical of the Church. I remember JK Williams had one of the few critical websites (Runtu's Rincon) and how he could tell when the SCMC would visit his website due to their IP address. Fast forward a decade and there...

Re: Interpreter 2.0?

I experienced déjà vu this fine morning while reading the Proprietor's Easter-centered essay published today in Interpreter , "Christ is Risen! Truly, He is Risen!" (The essay will be posted online here later today.) As far as I can tell, the essay is essentially a repeat of an April 2023 blog post...

You might point out to your brother that Xenu dropping atomic bombs in volcanos was a pretty far-out idea.

The Kirtland Temple: Visions and Vomiting

The proprietor of a largely plagiarized blog, frequented only by a handful of deznutters and crazies, has been posting how great it is that the Church purchased the Kirtland Temple. Most Mormons have no clue what actually happened at the Kirtland Temple dedication. Eye-witness accounts show that Sam...

Re: Polygamy, Prostitution, Sex Politics in By's Salt Lake City (BYP LIVE!)

It was a very good presentation, Philo! Thank you for all of your hard work!

I wonder how many Mormons know that the Church not only sanctioned prostitution, but made a GREAT deal of money from it.

Re: FAIR Author And Unhinged Mopologist Blames The U.S. For The Recent ISIS Attack

What is really disturbing is Schryver seems to have a bit of a following. Apparently, delusion is much more widespread than I had imagined. Is a game-changing presentation against the U.S. scheduled for the August FAIR Conference at the Lehi Round-Up Rodeo Grounds? This would be an opportunity for ...

Re: Mormon divorce rates

While an undergrad at BYU I took a paid side job as a research assistant. Among other things we looked for was divorce rates among Mormons. Our survey results showed it at 52% with the National avg being 48% at the time. The university asked the results not be published and the project was scrapped...

Way Too Early Predictions For BYU Football's 2024 Season

BYU is entering its second season in the BIG 12. In order to be competitive, recruiting is going to have to improve fast. This season's recruiting class is a little disappointing. Right now, BYU sits at number 12 in the recruiting rankings for the BIG 12. Utah sits at number 5. Of course, Colorado w...
