Re: Assualt weapons
I did take "effective gun control" and banning to be one and the same. Which means you have not paid attention to a word I've said. Please further explain this difference. What would be an good example of effective gun control? Effective gun control would give us universal backgrounds che...

Re: Assualt weapons
Please clear up my misunderstanding of that response. Certainly. A person bent on mass killing is not going to be very successful trying to access guns in a country that has effective gun control in place. This does not mean bans, it means effective gun control. This brings us full circle to the gu...

Re: Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Liberals Una
http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2013/05/07/gun-homicide-rate-down-49-since-1993-peak-public-unaware/ The reduction in gun-related homicides correlates with the reduction in the households that own guns: m The increase in the raw number of guns owned in the US is the product of fewer individuals owni...

Re: Assualt weapons
Mak is calling for one! I'm doing no such thing whatsoever, and I explicitly pointed that out. Smarter gun control does not require a universal ban. Assault weapons need to be banned, yes, but not all guns. Pay better attention, please. And he is correct in that it is the only thing that could real...

Re: Assualt weapons
I do believe that Mak is correct that only a total ban of all guns/ammo at high levels could/would produce the desired results of removing guns from the hands of all citizens, thus dropping the margin of gun related deaths to near zero. Not what I said at all. As I believe he has also referred to, ...

Re: Assualt weapons
Given the US constitutional amendment, any weapon of any sort should be permissible for a citizen to possess. Really? I have read the second amendment and it didn't say this. A nuke is a weapon. Should a US citizen, able to afford one, have the right to possess one? I'd add that the Second Amendmen...

Re: Assualt weapons
This is just totally wrong. If you buy a gun online, it has to ship to an FFl, when you go to pick it up you have to pass the same background check as you would in a store. Nope. It can ship directly to you. The sale just has to be categorized as private and ship inside the state. Even then, plenty...

Re: Assualt weapons
Oh no. No, mak. Play with a proxy dick? Tell that to the US military. Tell that to the cops. Tell that to security guards. Yeah, I know plenty of each, and I promise you they love to think of their guns as reifications of their manliness and aggression. Those are jobs where guns are (usually) requi...

Re: Assualt weapons
"There's not a lot of aiming going on when shooting into large crowds. That's kinda the purpose." The Geneva Convention has it that only FMJ (full metal jacket) bullets are used in war. This goes hand in hand with the modern use of small caliber weapons. The whole idea is to wound, not ki...

Re: Assualt weapons
And you're contributing to the sense of safety culture that conditions people to think that being sheeple is more important than standing up for constitutional freedoms and rights and that's just sick. That's a pathetic way to rhetorically suggest there's something wrong with me thinking human live...
