Re: I could've made all of you rich
Back in 2021, I pointed out this weight-loss drug, but no one replied. That was a great time to invest in the company that produces it. Now, that company is becoming wildly successful. https://discussmormonism.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=961 Of course, no one listens to me. Did you listen to yourself?

Re: doubtingthomas’s topics MEGATHREAD
DT experiences himself at war with something external to himself, when he is actually at war with himself. Some Schomo is calling me a creepy predator and that's somehow a war with myself? Why is it so hard to acknowledge the campaigns trying to persuade young women to avoid older men? If you weren...

That was an interesting documentary. I'd never seen Utah politics explained in that manner.Moksha wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 3:14 pmHere is a brief documentary on Utah's strangeness:

Re: Chad Daybell gets his day in court.
I did some fact checking which I should have done prior. Sorry. I was wrong on some key points. The case wasn't a death penalty case. Life was the only sentence the judge could give the defendant. The death penalty and life without parole were not an option for him in sentencing. A short time later...

Re: Have you ever met a Mormon General Authority…
Yes. My mission president was a 70. I had one personal interview with him as part of a mission or zone conference. I was a little intimidated, but I don’t recall anything in particular about it. My only other personal encounter with him was a phone call, during which he was not at his best. I doubt ...

Re: Chad Daybell gets his day in court.
When I was in California as a youth, Jerry Brown appointed Rose Bird as Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court. She and a few others on the bench overturned every death penalty case that was presented to the court. I knew one of the cases kind of well and it sent the community and surroundin...

Re: Chad Daybell gets his day in court.
No. If Chad is found guilty, there will be a second trial with the same jury. The jury will decide between death and life imprisonment without parole. I don't know whether Chad can be found guilty on a lesser included offense. I haven't heard anyone refer to that as a possibility. Is this a state-s...

Re: Chad Daybell gets his day in court.
Also, is this a first degree murder - death penalty or acquittal or can he be found guilty of something like 2nd degree if the prosecution doesn't prove it's case to that level of a death penalty conviction. No. If Chad is found guilty, there will be a second trial with the same jury. The jury will...

Chad Daybell gets his day in court.
LDS author and fringe cult leader Chad Daybell's day in court begins tomorrow, with opening statements scheduled for 9:00 AM MDT. As was true with his wife, Lori, his trial is being held in Boise because of the potential bias from media coverage in Rexburg. He is charged with first-degree murder and...

Re: Mormons arguing that “Mormon” is as derogatory as the N-word
Okay, now we're getting somewhere. If he claims inspiration from God, can we classify his claim as "true" or "false" based on whether he is really, truly receiving inspiration from God vs. whether he's lying about it or simply delusional? Yeah, that is where it gets messy. Charismatic leaders of th...
