I am getting really tired of the phony history lessons from the leaders of the LDS Church.
They LDS church has been whitewashing its history since at least the Article on Marriage. It's institutional with them. It's "how they roll."

The Book of Abraham and the Kirtland Egyptian Papers

I've read where apologists assert that the Grammar and Alphabet of the Egyptian Language (GAEL) and other writings that comprise the Kirtland Egyptian Papers (KEP) collection were an effort made by Joseph Smith's scribes after the Book of Abraham had already been rendered into English. Re: Can the study of Mormonism ever be the same within or out of belief?

Oh........well, in that case, hi! Yes it can be different and is. But I no longer allow Mormonism to have its own label for me, i.e., "apostate." I have become free because I have found the truth. Apostasy is their label, and I refuse to wear it or agree with it. What they think is utterly ir...

Re: GA's told - don't keep journals?

Taking you back in history- remember the GA Gene R. Cook devotional talk about his run in with Mick Jagger on an airplane where Cook tried to "convert" the champagne sipping Mickster and accused Mick of leading young people into sin. The incident was discussed on several boards where it was claimed...

Maybe Kwaku was sure wearing garments would protect him and the others endowed that went to the soiree--and to hell with those who aren't.

The August 18, 1842 Letter from Joseph Smith to the Whitneys

Background . Joseph Smith had been for 8 days in hiding from attempts by Sheriff Thomas C. King, Adams County, Missouri, to extradite him back to Missouri, specifically hiding out in Carlos Grainger's house in Illinois, about a mile outside of Nauvoo. Three weeks earlier, on July 27, 1842 (when his...

Re: Three Powerful Books

Honor, I assume that you think that consciousness arose out of matter. But if consciousness is ultimately an arrangement/organization of information, where did that information originate? And further still, for that information to compose itself into what we refer to as consciousness within humans ...

Re: Sad...

Nothing new and interesting.......gosh there for a minute I thought MG was talking about the Mormon Church....... Intentional or not, MG was talking about the Mormon church. Nothing new and interesting. No need for "continuing revelation", sort of as Joseph F. Smith admitted in the Reed Smoot Heari...

Re: Sad...

I am a fairly recent reader of mormondiscussions.com. I began reading it in 2017. I registered just over two years ago and have posted here and there. It did not take long in 2017 in reading this Terrestrial Forum to figure it out it once had more glorious days of robust debating. I have seen refere...
