Par for the course.

LDS Scriptures have something to say in this matter.

But that doesn’t matter here.

MG
I’d feel grumpy too if I felt like I had to sit through days of General Conference pablum.

Not grumpy here. Uplifted.

Re: More Bad News For The Future Of The Church

At least MG 2.0 admitted that his ward was shrinking. Our stake just recently added two more wards to the stake because of growth in our area. All of the buildings are running on multiple ward schedules to meet the needs of members every Sunday. Where did I say our ward was shrinking? Regards, MG

What I am saying is that you are not showing that hell exists by posing a question. I don’t need to answer that question, nor does there need to be an answer to the question. Either the doctrine of hell is clearly laid out in the Bible or it is not. I say it is not. Maybe were at an impasse. Seems ...

Re: Free eBook: Truth is Reason

A few years back, I wrote a book on Latter-day Saint Theology. It was one of those self-published things that sells 20 copies to friends and family. For at least three or four chapters, the particular position I take on theology was shaped by discussions I had in years past on this board. I figured...

Re: Happy Sunday

The first big crack in my beliefs came at that time when I realised that I simply didn't miss going to church in the way I thought I would and should. I started searching for what could make me feel that way. My search eventually led me to the website of Richard Packham, a retired teacher & lawyer....

Re: University of South Carolina Cancels Basketball Games With BYU Over Racial Incident

Do you think the Church should apologise for the Priesthood Ban? One incident of modern institutions rushing to take an athlete at her word (which may have been given in good faith, even if nothing racist was said), and MG calls for rounds of apologies. One hundred fifty plus years of systematic Mo...

Re: University of South Carolina Cancels Basketball Games With BYU Over Racial Incident

Do you think the Church should apologise for the Priesthood Ban? Still nothing MG2.0? What's the problem? It's a simple question... Sorry. I missed this. I didn’t come back to this thread until today to give this any special notice. The church has come along way. The NAACP seems to be OK with Pres....

Re: Following the Sprit and Echolocation

Simply put. If God is our Father then just good ol’ common sense would tell us that He loves and cares about us. And that He has our long term best interests in mind. You appear to be claiming that being our father would make him care about us. Sorry - that simply makes no sense to me. It's almost ...

Mg, your response creates more question than clarification. You are posting now so are obviously not banned. What sort of temporary ban are you referring to? This was a few years ago. Back in my wilder days. Thanks Kishkumen. No one home today except me and the kidney stone. Not fun at all. Regards,...

Re: Happy Sunday

I followed Dehlin’s podcasts. They did help in the sense that I was able to use what I heard there along with everything else I was listening to and reading. As I said, I think in his beginning years his motives were somewhat praiseworthy in that he did entertain guests that had different viewpoint...
