Re: SEN indulges in gossip and innuendo

A version of that story was posted a few days ago on an LDS website. I don’t know whether the man in the story has ever shared his perspective. (I won’t mention his name here.)

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million

I do wonder why the money wasn't used to build the FARMS ziggurat . Alternatively, FARMS could have purchased the Kirtland temple, moved it by truck to Provo, and contracted with E. C. Construction Company to reconstruct the temple into a ziggurat. (I suspect that D. Peterson would have been hired ...

Re: LDS Inc buys Kirtland Temple from Mormon rivals for $192 million

I have learned from a reliable source that the LDS Church has only committed to keep the Kirtland Temple as a publicly accessible historical site for 15 years. This is sad, sad news. Looks like the LDS Church may very well turn this into a working temple after that. The CoC website has this FAQ : W...

Re: Epic Movie About Moroni Starring Billy Zane

I regret to report that The Oath is now playing in a single theater, in Lethbridge, Canada. Box Office Mojo puts the movie’s gross at a disappointing $496,817.

Did you catch a screening, Reverend?

Re: A Darkness Settles Over "6 Days in August"

I continue to have faith that the film will premiere in late summer 2024. Sadly, though, it doesn’t appear that the film will be screened at the upcoming Zions Indie Film Fest (26 February-2 March 2024). I suspect there’s too much fundraising, filming, editing, dubbing, sweetening, and smoothing to ...

Re: DCP goes all-in on pseudo scientific quackery

I read an interesting paper this afternoon—Alexandre Caroli Rocha, et al., “Investigating the Fit and Accuracy of Alleged Mediumistic Writing: A Case Study of Chico Xavier's Letters,” Explore 10/5 (September/October 2014): 300-308—from which I’ll share some excerpts. From the abstract: Context : The...

Re: Proving the church true in the US court of law

I’ve noticed that the title of the fireside matches the name of the presentation that Br. Densley delivered at the 2023 FAIR Conference. I hope he’s not repeating his FAIR presentation.

I can’t help but think of Ecclesiastes 1:9.
