I weigh everyday.... oh and I get another pass today! 500 more pushups! And my daily 2,000 calf raisers.....

My scale is synched with my fitbit so it also tells me bodyfat percentage. I started wth 35% and am down to 25% yay me!

Philo Sofee,

Do you do cardio, too? I realize with that much strength building that your heart rate raises, but do you do anything specifically for cardio like I do?

I've got 2 days of icy roads here, so that means do my thing at home. And when I say do my thing at home, that means weights and crunchless abs. My goal is to keep moving no matter what it is that I choose to do. Sitting is bad for you! Weather looks good for Friday and over the weekend to get out to the gym!

Winter is my greatest challenge but so far, I'm doing it!

Here's something else I decided to do over winter when I can't get out for treadmill cardio. I mentioned in an earlier post that I workout to music and that I use the beats per minute websites to collect up music.

For example, when I'm in my target heart rate zone, I'm using songs that are 116 beats per minute, bpm.

I can take a song that I use with 116 bpm and use youtube videos of the choreography of the official videos to dance to the song for my cardio.

Here's Uptown Funk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDG4wPKPR28

I can't do 500 push ups, but I can totally do that choreography. If I can't find a video, I can do my own choreography because I know how to dance. Don't judge me, I'm using what little talent I have! Winter necessity is the mother of invention!

I mostly do bike riding in good weather. For winter I do strength training more or less....

My blood pressure was at an amazing 117 over 71 last month..... that blew me away because I was right on the verge of high blood pressure a few months back....

That's really great! Your resting heart rate will lower over time, too. Lowered BP is one of the undeniable health benefits of working out and losing weight if you need to lose. Isn't that amazing what you did?? I like that you're using a fitbit. I know so many people who use them, but I am simple minded. K.I.S.S is my middle name, so it's just me and my iPod trucking along together. I use the iPod like a timer going by the songs on it. ;-)

I mentioned above that I saw a cardiologist for some tests. The reason that happened is because I had poorly done tests at my primary thing that scared the ever lovin' hell out of me, so I had a bunch of test done with a specialist and all turned out great! Whew! One of the things I need to do is take my BP every day for what will be a total of 2 months before I do a follow up. I found out what causes my BP to go high when I'm in the office and it's not white coat syndrome like I thought.

It's caffeine.

When I take my non-caffeinated BP, it's totally normal. If I take it after I drink a cup of tea it's spiked up beyond belief.

So...reducing the amount of caffeine I drink is on my list of things to change. Otherwise, I'll end up on BP meds when I what I need to do is stop mindlessly drinking tea all day long. And when I say all day long, I mean at night, too. So my BP stays elevated all the time which isn't good.

I don't know what will be left of me when I get rid of all my bad habits!

My BP in the doctor's office is something like 155 over a million. Today's caffeine free BP: 114/66.

Well, I am a big fat failure. I do deny being big or fat. I've been iced in for the past 3 days and I'm not even close to joking. Weather is going to break tomorrow and I'm out of here to the gym! Looks good for the whole weekend and most of next week.

I didn't sit on my butt the whole time which I think is to my credit!

:-)
