Welcome home
Thank you. :)

Whatever conflicts that you come across in life, they can be beaten. Adopt Captain Moroni's attitude: be of the disposition to end the conflict, and then act on that disposition.

Welcome, Latterdaytemplar! I would encourage you to post in the Terrestrial Forum. Building off what Dr. Shades has been asking you--I would imagine that there are quite a few folks here who be interested to hear your views on the relationship between Masonry and Mormonism.

I may well implement your suggestion; thank you for recommending it to me!

More on topic with this forum, how do things line up politically at the lodge? Is it the same like Church?

I just had this humorous thought of the guys dressed in full drab fighting about masks.

Hi there Gadianton. In general, Freemasonry is open to most walks of life, including all political beliefs/backgrounds. A Lodge's membership will generally reflect the demographics of the local community. However, politics is one of the two topics of discussion that are not permitted in a Lodge meeting (the other being that of religion). It is common for one not to know the religious or political affiliations of fellow Masons (although there is no prohibition on such discussion outside of such meetings; but some don't understand this).

In our Lodge, we thankfully had no such fighting. However, when it was mandated by our Grand Lodge (by which authority a local Lodge meets and works) that we had to wear masks, some of our Brothers stopped attending meetings due to personal disagreement; when we moved to virtual meetings, they did not attend those either.

It was a sad time for us because these are men whom we truly love as Brothers. Thankfully, however, most have since returned and we are ecstatic to have them back.
