1) Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh. Pleas forgive the 30 minute prologue;
2) Stealing Speed by Max Oxley which is a modern day spy novel;

This thread reminds me of a bit I read from Neal Stephenson’s novel Fall, or, Dodge in Hell wherein near-future Conservatives have really gone off the rails. Most people in Stephenson’s future wear glasses, sort of like Google’s Smart Glasses, and exist in a melding of virtual and real reality. To whit, the Conservatives in that era receive the ‘news’ through imagery flashing into their eyes. No commentary. Just images going flash-flash-flash all day long.
This’ll ring true to those of us who attempt to engage the MAGA-type Conservatives on this board.
yellowstone123 I urge you train your mind and habits to read, not watch, information you consume, and to write coherently and with structure. This’ll help you become more, uh, structured in your thinking. Anyway, I’m seeing a pattern of thinking in your writing that screams susceptible to brainwashing, and you may want to meditate on the idea a bit.
