Moving this forward from last year because I'm going back on the kill pills. Might wait for the weekend to start. Probably shouldn't have even looked at this list. Anyway they're ready. Probably the worst that could happen is I get propofol. 8-)

Here I pulled this off Mayo Clinic about Rifaximin. Bolding what side effects I have. Just going down the list there's a lot of repetition there.
Side Effects
Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common
Anxiety
Black, tarry stools
Bladder pain
Bloody or cloudy urine
Difficult, burning, or painful urination
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Frequent urge to urinate
Lower back or side pain
Muscle spasm
Rapid breathing
Trouble sleeping

Less common
Blood in the urine
Bloody nose
Chest pain
Continuing ringing or buzzing or other unexplained noise in the ears
Fainting
Feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
Increased heart rate
Sensation of spinning
Sunken eyes
Ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
Unusual bleeding or bruising
Unusual tiredness or weakness

Incidence not known
Cracks in the skin
Hives or welts, itching skin, or rash
Large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
Loss of heat from the body
Red, swollen skin
Redness of the skin
Scaly skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common
Bloated----I think that's the "die off" period where bacteria are dying and emitting toxins.
Constipation
Difficulty with moving
Excess air or gas in the stomach or intestines---Same as bloating
Fever--elevated temp...didn't take temp when I felt that way, wasn't concerned.
Frequent urge to defecate
Full feeling
Headache--with the first round of treatment.
Muscle pain or stiffness

Stomach pain or bloating
Straining while passing stool
Swelling of the hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs

Less common
Abnormal dreams ----Panic dreams twice, One absolutely lovely dream,
Blurred vision
Chills
Confusion
Cough--dry cough not a lot of it
Decreased urination
Difficulty having a bowel movement (stool)
Dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
Dry lips
Dry mouth
Ear pain
Feeling of warmth
Hearing loss--not sure what that will end up being about.
Loss of appetite
Loss of taste
Nausea--rarely but have had it
Painful or difficult urination
Pale skin
Redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
Sore throat
Sweating
Swollen glands
Thirst
Vomiting
Wrinkled skin
Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.

Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Yes but I do think a few of those (dizzy, brain fog) could be attributed to the untreated "cork" that was in my ears. And who knows how it will/will not affect me this time. I look forward to doing it though. It's a very good thing for me!

I've got other loose ends to tie up such as a new med I never started yet (because I needed to have someone here with me at least a couple or three days because it could drop my bp and make me faint, and it wasn't possible before now. The Boy wasn't capable and there was SO much going on), still haven't gotten my annual immunizations either, and I also need to touch base with at least 3 providers.

It'll all get done in due time. Just don't like being late and having loose ends. Learning patience and acceptance.

God grand me the serenity...

This is how I think of it. I think some bad bacteria sent out invitations for a party in my gut and the guests are starting to arrive.

So yes, I think so. I don't know if I ever got rid of it. I think that maybe I did get rid of it and the symptoms I still get are from a damaged gut.

In so many ways I feel better but I still get symptoms especially at night. I still get bloating that hurts but not the humongous level I had previously. I think I actually sent you photos of that?

It's hard for me to remember things in detail since so many things have happened to me. Can you tell me if I sent you pics of that?

This from the list of symptoms.
Abnormal dreams ----Panic dreams twice, One absolutely lovely dream,
I don't remember the panic dreams at all. I don't think it was like a panic attack or sleep paralysis. I think they might have been one of those dreams when you feel like you're late for something and rushing. Might have personal notes on my computer about those.

The lovely dream I remember. It was one of those dreams you want to stay in. I dreamt about my mother. <3

Xifaxan

Start Date: Saturday, November 15, 2025

(I'm going to use this one post to record any and all side effects so it's going to change with edits over the next 14 days. If I end up getting stupid on account of brain fog I'll still do my best to record symptoms if I can. Watch this post for future displays of public embarrassment. )

The Boy with spare parts update!

Surgeon:

He had his 6 week post op check with the surgeon yesterday. Everything looks great! Incision is not all the way closed. Angles looking pretty good. When he told the surgeon he wanted to know when he could get the other knee done he told him not to rush it. His next surgeon checks are 3 and 6 months.

PT before last:

Elevator was broken so he had to walk up 2 flights of stairs with his cane. PT walked with him back down after the session and said he's doing great! She's really working him hard lately but he feels better. Recovery seems to come in waves.

What's gone:

Cooling machine
TED Hose (PTL!!)
Narcotics gone

What's he up to:

Walker used rarely around the house.
Cane used rarely around the house.
Mostly walking on his own 2 feet.
One leg (surgical) is perfectly straight, the other (non-surgical) has a slight bend.
He can do everything for himself now.
He's going everywhere (appointments, PT, coffee meet ups, grocery store, church, visiting, etc.) but tires easily.
He can pull the empty trash dumpster (wheelie bin) back off the road on his own.
Thinking I could give him a "to do" list now. ;)
He pulled out the VW Pick Up Bug modification he worked on and now driving it. It's a 5 speed manual trans.
Gets all kinds of thumbs up when he's out in traffic in it. Brags about it. 8-)

FYI: Never in my whole entire posting life did I ever think I would ever post any of these things about the Boy and I on an internet message board like this. Ever. Way too private. Not any more I guess.
