Saw a post on Facebook that said at the 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th day, guns fell silent. And I expect that probably isn't entirely accurate but it made me wonder...
The people who decided to stop the war did they just decide ok the war is going to end, but we will let people continue killing people until 11.11?

The Armistice was agreed to around 5 am on 11/11 and they just decided to make it 11 am to give the news time to filter up so people would know when to stop fighting. Not like they decided to stop on 11/11 at 11 am on Sept 6th and wanted to fight another 2 months because 11/11 at 11 is cool. The Kaiser abdicated on Nov 10 and Germany was undergoing numerous local coups and revolutions and it was game over the for the Germans. Basically just a coincidence.
