Back when I was a missionary in the Andes, we showed a filmstrip called "Christ in America," which related Jesus to native American myths such as Quetzalcoatl and Wiraqocha (this one had particular significance to us). These days, the church has backed off from making these connections, and I was wondering how/where the apologists place Jesus' coming in Mesoamerican history. Is there some particular time or place that fits (earthquakes, fires, floods, darkness, etc.) and any particular myth in Mesoamerica that works?
I'm not asking this to pick a fight. I'm just interested in seeing where the apologists have gone with this. Having posited a limited geography theory, they must similarly be limiting the scope of a postresurrection visit to the Americas. Can someone point me to the latest theory?

Greetings Runtu,
Here is Jeff Lindsey’s tidbit on volcanoes in America:

Here's an article from JOBMS on Quetzalcoatl:

On a side note; Ethen Smith in View of the Hebrews suggested that Quetzalcoatl was Moses (i.e. Quetzalcoatl was never an actual person in the Americas, but was the remnant of teachings about a great bearded leader from the ancestor's times).

Thanks, Doc. I'm reading it now.
My theory about Jesus in the Americas is part of my analysis of the Book of Mormon.
