I don’t think we can compare the life experiences of 19th century rural folk with that of 21st century educated students who have been introduced to a variety of international ancient forms of art. Modern students see thousands of images on the Internet, books, journals, etc., and will easily recognize the sex of Isis and Maat. Even children who know little about ancient Egypt will be able to make the connection based on life experiences. But 19th century men who are less acquainted with ancient customs and form may not easily tell the difference and may assume it was customary dress for men in ancient Egypt.

Re: “King Pharaoh, whose name is given in the characters above his head”
So if Joseph were to find himself in ancient Egypt, he would be uncertain about who to hit on?

Re: “King Pharaoh, whose name is given in the characters above his head”
On the contrary, it was his nature to hit on as many women as he could get away with. Joseph loved women and the more the merrier. It’s ironic that he misinterpreted the women in the Facsimile as men! When the Catalyst theory becomes the official doctrine of the Church you will see how apologists will posit that Smith knew they were really women and he only used them to serve as examples to illustrate his story. But don’t worry, *that* apologetic is DOA. Trust me. There is nobody on this earth more qualified and capable of destroying the Catalyst theory than Paul Osborne.

I already told you, his name is Bob
Re: “King Pharaoh, whose name is given in the characters above his head”
You mean like from that Beach Boys song, Bob, Bob, Bob,... Bob, Bob Turan? Just singing it makes you want to dance like an Egyptian.

Re: “King Pharaoh, whose name is given in the characters above his head”
Nope. I don't walk by faith. I walk by sight and knowledge grounded in intelligence of things as they *were* and as they *are*. I am 100% sure the name “Bob” is not contained in the hieroglyphic label above the head of the goddess Isis. None of the nine characters inscribed therein signify the required “b” sound you suggest to formulate the fictitious name for Bob. It’s not there. It doesn’t exist. I’m telling you this in the exact way and manner I would tell Joseph Smith -- your interpretation is dead wrong. The name “Bob” is not found anywhere on the vignette, period, end of story.
- Joseph Smith *was* wrong.
- The Church *is* wrong.
