"At the time of the Saviour’s birth, Israel was ruled by alien monarchs. The rights of the royal Davidic family were unrecognized; and the ruler of the Jews was an appointee of Rome. Had Judah been a free and independent nation, ruled by her rightful sovereign, Joseph the carpenter would have been her crowned king; and his lawful successor to the throne would have been Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.

Gabriel’s annunciation to Mary was that of the Son of David, on whose coming the hope of Israel rested as on a sure foundation. The One, thus announced, was Emmanuel, even God who was to dwell in flesh with His people, the Redeemer of the world, Jesus the Christ."

Our Heavenly Father has promised that his eye is on the sparrow—so too does he watch over and care about us because of the love he has for us. We are reminded of the spiritual power that comes from consistently doing the small and simple things that will strengthen our spirits. :)

"There are two powers in the universe: one invites us to choose the right and experience eternal joy and happiness, and the other invites us to choose the opposite, bringing sadness and regret. Our doctrine teaches us that life is a test—a time to see which invitation we will accept.
I remind you of Jesus’s prophecy regarding the last days in which we now live: “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:24). We are saddened when we witness some of the “very elect” deceived, as Jesus warned."

Those who love righteousness possess the Spirit of God, those who delight to do good, can remember good.

They can remember every good principle and every good act;

When they read the Scriptures, the sayings of the Prophets and Apostles will be as near their hearts as lies are to the hearts of the wicked.

By this you may know whether you are Saints or not.

Can you remember good?

If you forget good and remember evil, you may lay it down as a positive fact that you are on the highway to destruction.

If you love the truth you can remember it.

Happiness doesn’t come in pills or in anything you swallow, or own. Other people can’t make you happy. Your happiness isn’t a hostage that others hold for ransom. It doesn’t come from outside you.

Happiness is the big brother of Gratitude and Contentment. When you hang out with the younger siblings routinely, he eventually shows up.

Happiness is a choice you make when you focus on what is good in your life and appreciate it, when you accept that the existence of people and situations you don’t like doesn’t oblige you to be miserable.

Appreciate what you have because it can all be gone in an instant. Express gratitude for your life because tomorrow might never come. Happiness turns up wherever contentment and gratitude reside.

The mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is three-fold:

Proclaim the Gospel

The mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is three-fold:
Joe's mission was...

1. Money digger con.
2. Making up fake "scripture"
3. "Marrying" other men's wives when the men were on "missions"
4. "Marrying" young girls.
5. Several other cons... including..
6. Making up more fake "scripture."
7. "Marrying" more women, many of whom were other men's wives.

A hymn for contemplation...

"Thus the scriptures of both hemispheres and in all ages of ante-meridian time bore solemn testimony to the certainty of Messiah’s advent; thus the holy prophets of old voiced the word of revelation predicting the coming of the world’s King and Lord, through whom alone is salvation provided, and redemption from death made sure. It is a characteristic of prophets sent of God that they possess and proclaim a personal assurance of the Christ, “for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Not a word of inspired prophecy relating to the great event has been found void. The literal fulfilment of the predictions is ample attestation of their origin in divine revelation, and proof conclusive of the divinity of Him whose coming was so abundantly foretold."
