I believe you’re mistaken about that.
The "deconstructed" Youtube is Led Zeppelin, and is isolate tracks directly from the actual studio recording.

The Dragnet version is not Led Zeppelin. Trust me.

Also the Dragnet version of the song was not actually on the Dragnet episode. Somebody put a cover version of it on that Blue Boy episode post.

Here's the original Blue Boy episode without the song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eBPWwxOKwQ

Yes, Yes, I know all that because I’ve watched the actual episode from Dragnet and Zeppelin’s music was not featured and couldn’t have been because Zeppelin hadn’t yet formed out of the ashes of the Yard Birds.

Anyway, the deconstruction in Blue boy certainly sounds like Led Zeppelin to me, possibly altered or skewed, or from one of the live tracks which are many.

Now, with all that said, it is possible that I’m wrong and it is a knock-off. I have been wrong before (at least twice in my life) but it makes no sense that someone would deconstruct a knock-off band of Zeppelin when they can do the actual music whether original or live.

Anyway, I’m glad to know you are a Zeppelin fan. I absolutely love Zeppelin and consider that band God’s gift to the world whereby we are made free by the labor of love. Yeah baby!

You have no idea. And more than that. ;)

Bill4 long, that link you made to the whole blue boy dragnet episode was a weird trip back in time. It mixes some real observations or reports about lsd with nonsense and fearmongering. I remember the silly claims, chewing bark off of trees , the episode left out leaping from tall buildings. It did make weird claims ablut people developing psychological dependence on LSD and people all experiencing extreme horrible hallucinations, getting real sick as they came down (probably a good bit of this is confusion with amphetamines).

I remember the mix of real report and fear mongering nonsense. I might have even seen this tv episode. I do not remember for sure. The attitudes are familiar and from more than one source at that time.

I suppose part of why Philo wants to distance his discussion from hippies is that that time had such a variety of peoples approach to drugs. There were people fully aware of and interested in LSD as spiritual growth and awareness. There was hope for a social rebirth flowing from that opened up awareness. ("I saw the bomber flying in the sky turning into butterflies all across our nation") There were also people interested in chaos.or perhaps just adventure. There was a lot more heroin and meth than people wanted to talk about. I think much of the positive hope got devoured by the other drugs. (that and the simple fact that renewal of reality is easier to hope for and envision than to accomplish)

I've watched that video more times than I have fingers and toes. The lyrics to that song are quite fitting for this thread. Oh how the brethren in the Kirtland temple may be meeting their Lord under the influence of acid?

Yeah baby!

In My Time of Dying
Led Zeppelin

In my time of dying
Want nobody to mourn
All I want for you to do
Is take my body home.

Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Well, well, well, so I can die easy.

Jesus gotta make up, sure know
Jesus gotta make up
Jesus gonna make up my dyin' bed.

Meet me, Jesus, meet me
Ooh, meet me in the middle of the air
If my wings should fail me, Lord
Oh, please meet me with another pair.

Well, well, well, so I can die easy
Oh-oh, well, well, well, so I can die easy.

Jesus gotta make up, somebody, somebody
Oh, oh, Jesus gotta make up
Jesus gonna make it my dyin' bed.

Oh, Saint Peter, at the gates of heaven
Won't you let me in?
I never did no harm
I never did no wrong.

Oh, oh, Gabriel, oh, let me blow your horn
Let me blow your horn
Oh, I never did no harm
Did no wrong.

I've only been young once
I never thought I'd do anybody no wrong,
No, not once, oh.

Oh, good!

Oh, I did somebody so good
Somebody some good, yeah, I saw.

Oh, did somebody some good, yeah
I musta did somebody some good, yeah
Oh, I believe I did.

I see the smiling faces, yeah
I know there must be lipstick traces, oh.

And I see them in the streets
And I see them in the fields, yeah,
And I hear them under my feet
And I know it's got to be real
Oh, Lord, deliver me
All the wrong I've done
Oh, you can deliver me, Lord, yeah
I only wanted to have some fun.

Oh, hear, the angels marching, marching
They been marching, keep it marching, yeah, marching.

Oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus
Oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus
Oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus
Oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus, oh, my Jesus
Oh, my Je... ah-oh, ah, my Je...
Hey, yeah, that's got to be my Jesus
Whoa-whoa!

It's got to be, it's got to be my Jesus
It's got to be, oh
It's got to be my Jesus
Oh, oh, take me home.

Come on, come on
I can hear the angels singing
Oh, here they come, here they come, here they come.

Bye-bye, bye-bye
Bye-bye, bye-bye, bye-bye
Oh, feels pretty good up here, pretty good up here.

I'll touch Jesus, I'll touch Jesus, I'll touch Jesus
I'll touch Jesus, I'll touch Jesus
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah
Oh, I see him
Come on
Take it, take it, take it, take it, take it, take it,
Take it, take it, take it, take it, take it, take it, take it
Ooh, yes, come on, oh, oh, yeah!

Oh, don't you make it my dyin', dyin', dyin'... cough.

That's gonna be the one, asn't it?
Come 'n have a listen, then.
Oh, yes, thank you.

P.S. we're big Zep fans over here, me and the whole damn family of musicians. This may tickle you... did this a couple of years ago for funzies, but I never got around to adding harmony parts. Maybe I will now that I'm retired.

And for some extra fun... sound check, without Plant, off the mixer. From a friend of mine who's father was at the soundboard.

Houses of the Holy

Post by Shulem »

We would like to express appreciation for the wonderful prelude music in which we have been so richly blessed. That was truly inspiring. And now, without further ado, let us commemorate and pay our respects to the Kirtland temple and the experiences had in the House of the Holy.
